Alicia Leigh Willis Rumors

edit

Unless and until Tyler Christopher confirms that he and Willis are a couple, there shouldn't be rumors about it in the Wikipedia articles. So far both actors have been adamant that they are not involved, and there is no way to verify the rumors that they are. D'Amico 00:04, 18 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Purpose of this page

edit

I was very concerned to see this recent revert, with an edit summary of this site has been used by promoters for CAREER info not a bunch of unnecessary info. Please be aware that this is not an acceptable use of a Wikipedia article. Bios here are to be used for general encyclopedic information about a subject, that is referenced from reliable third-party sources. It is not for promotion. Any attempts to use this article as a promotional vehicle will be deleted, and editors who attempt to add promotional information will probably end up blocked from Wikipedia. Please see WP:COI and WP:SPAM. --Elonka 18:08, 25 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I didn't mean that I was using my written bio as "promotional" in the sense that you believe it is. But this is an actor and information is used from this site for use on other websites, etc. I've seen this entire article used by others or referenced. Wikipedia can't prevent people from using this information. It's similar to the IMDB in the sense people think because it's here it's true.
The information I wrote is the same information in a previous bio that was used. I prefer to read bios that are succinct and precise and not a lot of information I don't need and can't be confirm. It's basically a difference in what a reader wants to read. Correct? So one bio is more filler and fluff and one is more succinct. How does Wikipedia choose which to use if both fall within the guidelines. —Preceding unsigned comment added by SEvener226 (talkcontribs) 16:02, June 26, 2007
When you say "my written bio," do you mean that you are Tyler Christopher? If so, you definitely do have some say about what goes into the article, but it's best to keep your comments on the talkpage, to avoid conflict of interest issues. As for your questions: anything that's linked to a verifiable source, is allowed to be included unless it is in violation of a Wikipedia policy. The overall principle in this particular case is probably Biographies of living persons, which means to stick to well-sourced info. As for other information, complete trivia is generally discouraged, per Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information, but info that is well sourced, and relevant to the individual's notability (that is not negative) is strongly encouraged. In Christopher's case, his native american heritage is directly relevant to his notability, as it is often mentioned in articles about him, and he has even won awards because of it.
If you still strongly disagree about some of the information in the article, my recommendation is that instead of reverting it wholesale, that you choose a specific portion (like a couple sentences) that you disagree with, and bring it up here at talk to have a good faith discussion about it. I'm really not here to hurt the article, I'm here to make it better, and I'm confident that if we both work together in good faith, we can probably come up with an acceptable compromise version. If we flat out can't agree, there are dispute resolution techniques, which would start with inviting other editors to come in and give third opinions. If we go that route, I'd recommend that we start by posting a note at Wikipedia:WikiProject Soap Operas to ask other soap editors to pop in. Or we could do a generic call to all editors from different subjects, but I don't think we're at that point yet. Hope that helps explain! Also, when talking in talkpages, please sign your posts with ~~~~, that'll automatically sign and datestamp your post, which makes discussions a bit easier to follow. Does the purpose include accurate marital status? Information on his recent wedding is repeatedly being deleted and was wondering why? Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lm384 (talkcontribs) 23:59, 21 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Tyler Christopher 2006.JPG

edit

Image:Tyler Christopher 2006.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Edit warring

edit

To the users who have been edit warrring in this article over the inclusion of Brienne Pedigo as Tyler Christopher's wife, please discuss your edits on the talk page here and obtain consensus, because reverting each other's changes for months without discussion and using sockpuppets to evade detection is not on. If you do not come to an agreement here, the article will remain protected. Somno (talk) 09:16, 28 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

There is nothing to discuss. He was remarried on Sept 27 of last year. I don't know why this fact keeps being removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lm384 (talkcontribs) 17:18, 29 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
