David Cohen's writer credit edit

I'm just checking - is his name in the credits really listed as "David²+S.²+Cohen²"? Fair enough if that's how it is on screen, but seems mighty odd to me... --Mortice 22:05, 20 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Erotic Cakes edit

The "Erotic Cakes" thing has GOT to be some kind of reference or in-joke, but I can't figure it out. Does anyone know what it's about? ~ CZeke 04:08, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

They talk about it in the commentary on how it shows that homer is going to be alright in this world. 68.230.7.215 (talk) 01:22, 25 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

It was a real store, just down the block from Dangerous Visions, the sci-fi bookstore — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:647:401:B330:14E5:45F1:13B:2FFD (talk) 02:24, 24 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Kang Kodos Hitchhiking.jpg edit

Image:Kang Kodos Hitchhiking.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Math Equations edit

Sure this section may be defined as "trivia" but I believe that is subjective. The definition of encyclopedia from the wiki page states:

"...that [which] contains information on either all branches of knowledge or a particular branch of knowledge."

The theorems and explanation of said theorems are knowledge and by protection under the definition of encyclopedia must not be deleted. If the math section is deleted the information contained in the article will be lost, for it is not contained on any other website nor is it readily available. Wikipedia is not about deleting knowledge. Job (talk) 05:46, 29 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Cyberworld 3D edit

This IMAX movie has as part of it Homer3, shown in its entirety, complete with 3D glasses compatibility. It used to be shown at IMAX cinemas all over the place. The movie has a Wikipedia article. It might be worth mentioning somewhere in the article - rst20xx (talk) 00:05, 26 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Martin's Latin edit

In 'A Nightmare on Evergreen Terrace', does anyone know whether it is deliberate that Martin conjugates the verb "to die" incorrectly? He says: "Aha! "Morire": to die. "Morit": he, she, or it dies." The verb is actually deponent, so it's actually "Mori" in the infinitive instead of "Morire" and "Moritur" instead of "Morit" in the third person singular. Bizarrely, Groundskeeper Willie's Latin is better than Martin's: the second person singular is, as he says, "Moris".

Is this a deliberate joke or merely the writers having a shaky grasp of Latin verbs? --130.216.91.251 (talk) 02:59, 21 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

No. The second person singular is *Moreris*! "Morior, Mori" is 3rd conjugation -io. The "R" is part of the stem. The stem is "Mori-" + the passive ending "-ris". This would look like "Moriris", except that due to vowel shift rules, i becomes e before r, the 2nd singular of 3rd conjugation (including -io's) uses "-eris". Thus, "Moreris". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.112.26.170 (talk) 20:05, 13 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Homer 3 2-D sequence edit

I can't help noticing that the animation looks pretty sketchy in the 2-D parts of Homer 3, less tidy than usual. Am I imagining this, or has there ever been a reason given for the below average quality of the animation here? Martyn Smith (talk) 13:39, 18 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

GAR edit

The article has the template More citations needed since March of last year, looking at it in general I think it has not aged very much so it is necessary to get a GAR to revalidate its status. Notice to article reviewer @Hunter Kahn: (who is still active) to see how to fix this problem. 2801:1CA:E:1411:1C4E:6030:4270:A30E (talk) 21:06, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
