I think the gramdmother role Tracy Jordan's character is famous for playing is white. The movie is called something like "Honky Grandma Be Trippin'" or something ridiculous. Does anyone know for sure? Jyroberson 16:52, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Hm, so the Apollo Theater line was mentioned in the show in tonight's episode, and it seems to have been added by a user called "Jordanfan", back on December 23, 2006, well before the air date, and probably after the show was written, so I'm thinking it was probably a studio plant? Eddie Murphy? Isn't he a parody of Martin Lawrence. His movies/career and incidents with the law seem like just minor modifications of Lawrence's real life. At most he's 30% Eddie Murphy & 70% Lawrence.

I'm pretty sure he's an amalgam of many famous/imfamous Black comedians in SNL's history. Many of his antics remind me of Richard Pryor in the early days of SNL (I'm reading the book LIVE FROM NEW YORK!, a history of SNL). --Jhlynes 07:41, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

In the first episode he states that he lived in foster care but only to stop next to the building and urinate. He says it with some sarcasm and toward the end of the scene he turns around to look at Liz Lemon with a slight grin, which leads me to believe that he was lying and it was only to urinate. This is the feeling I gathered when I first saw the episode, and upon seeing it again I still feel the same. This is debatable, but it would allow the other episode in which he says that he lived alone with his mother to stand as true. Of course, i guess it could have been that the writers forgot or simply ignore the first episode, but i strongly believe that Tracy Jordan was lying.

I think that the pilot episode of a series sometimes gets retconned (look it up) from the show's histroy as the show evolves. In one episode, they said Tracy Jordan was discovered doing stand-up at the Appollo, in another, Tracy was a child actor on a nickelodeon show. This bein the first season, the writers obviously don't have every detail worked out in the character biographies, so they change little details as they go. Why is this in Wikipedia?

I don't understand what qualifies this to be an encyclopedia article. What's the significance? What's the notability? Comatmebro (talk) 02:42, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

To add to that: I just looked over the notability (fiction) page and it says "Articles on fiction elements are expected to cover more about "real-world" aspects of the element, such as its development and reception, than "in-universe" details." If you don't believe it should belong, start a discussion to merge or delete it. Personally I think the character may meet notability guidelines but the article itself is a gigantic fan article and shouldn't exist in its current form. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 20:16, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
