Toyota Corolla SpacioToyota Corolla Verso — The vehicle is a Corolla Verso, it is the most common name, there is no controversy from such a small article with no discussion, and even a Google English-only search gives more than twice as many results for Toyota Corolla Verso than Toyota Corolla Spacio. To be exact a worldwide search in English nets nearly 6 times as many results for "Toyota Corolla Verso" than "Toyota Corolla Spacio".
The article should use the more common name for the English speaking Wikipedia.

We had a big discussion of this on the Automobile project last year. The result was put on the conventions page: Wikipedia:WikiProject Automobiles/Conventions#Titles. Please read this carefully before further discussion.  Stepho  (talk) 11:17, 12 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Toyota being Japanese would back my point here that this article is named wrongly.
Also "Each article shall be titled with the model name used in the subject vehicle's home market, unless a single name other than the home-market name is used in English-speaking markets, and the home market is not English-speaking. In such cases, the article shall be titled with the model name used in English-speaking markets."
That would make the car the Toyota Corolla Verso.
I'm in line with your automobile convention here and English is not the native language in Japan so this shouldn't be a controversial move.

It seems to have been called Spacio in New Zealand at least, which would make the JDM name correct for this article.  ⊂| Mr.choppers |⊃  (talk) 19:07, 15 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Was the Spacio an official NZ model or a grey import? NZ is famous for allowing a lot of JDM grey imports and also for having odd ball JDM models (ie models originally designed for Japan but sold in NZ brand new). Either way, since NZ is only a single country with a smallish market, I'm tempted to agree with renaming to 'Corolla Verso'.  Stepho  (talk) 22:41, 15 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Dunno, I was referencing the article. It was definitely called the Verso in all European markets, and if NZ and AUS did so as well, then absolutely: move it.  ⊂| Mr.choppers |⊃  (talk) 16:53, 16 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

This model was not sold in Australia and as far as I know New Zealand (nothing on the archived versions of their official website). It appears to be a Europe and Japan only model, so "Corolla Verso" seems like the best title per WP:CARS/Conventions. OSX (talkcontributions) 03:23, 26 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

I tried to start the move by renaming to 'Toyota Corolla Verso' but it says 'Toyota Corolla Verso' already exists (inspite of Wikipedia:Moving a page saying that redirect pages are okay to overwrite). So I rename 'Toyota Corolla Verso' to 'Toyota Corolla Verso temp' (which will later be renamed as 'Toyota Corolla Spacio' with a redirect to 'Toyota Corolla Verso') but it still rejects it. I will try again a little later in case its just a cache issue.  Stepho  (talk) 04:36, 26 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
I think you have to request an admin to move the page. If it wasn't already clear, I support the move, as all of my reservations thereto have been cleared.  ⊂| Mr.choppers |⊃  (talk) 06:16, 26 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
The redirect page actually has to be deleted prior to the page move. To get the redirect deleted quickly, I just added the following template to the Corolla Verso redirect page: {{db-move|Toyota Corolla Spacio|per consensus at [[Talk:Toyota Corolla Spacio]]}}. Thanks. Seems like Wikipedia:Moving a page is out-of-date with respect to overwriting redirect pages.  Stepho  (talk) 08:26, 26 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
