Stating somebody is a criminal is a contentious label

Using the word "criminal" to describe a person is a contentious label and suggests a degree of editorializing, or editorial opinion if the label is not supported by sources. The tone of a biography about a living person should convey information about that person in a responsible, cautious, and dispassionate tone, without understatement or overstatement. Biographies should not label people with contentious labels, loaded language, or other terms that lack precision, unless this is how reliable sources commonly describe that person.
