Call of Duty? edit

It's fairly strange to end up this article by comparing Raven Shield to Call of Duty.

Call of Duty is a "traditional" First person Shooter with the following characteristics:

* Hollywoodian style (non-realistic),
* Linear (there is only one path...),
* Scripted to death.

Raven Shield is a tactical shooter with the opposite characteristics:

* Realism,
* Non-linear (you go where you want, as long as you complete the objectives),
* NO SCRIPTS HERE!

These two games belong to two distinct categories and they are often played by two distinct categories of players. In my view, saying that one is better than the other is not relevant. Personally, I love tactical shooters and I hate linearly scripted hollywoodian scenarios... I won't however say that Raven Shield is better than Call of Duty, I will just say they address different players!

Goofs edit

The game makes a big deal of confusion on the missions in Brazil. It gets a mess with the Festas Juninas and the Carnaval. The scenario suggests it really means the carnival, but it explicitly mention the Festas Juninas which are a completely different thing and celebrated on June. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.62.126.78 (talk) 19:51, 3 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

The Moby Games page says: With the Windows 1.5 patch released in December 2003, Ubisoft added a new copy protection scheme as well. The code checks PC's for any clone or virtual drive programs and then fails to launch the game if such devices or programs are found. The EULA does not state once that you are not allowed to have virtual drives on your system during play, it only says that you are not allowed to make copies. While virtual disc tools are often used to prevent physical damage from original CD's or for technical purposes in general, you'll have to uninstall all of them if you want to keep playing. Is this true in the latest (1.6) patch too?

Also, is there a retail PC version that included the original game and the expansions?

Console edit

Shouldn't the console version get its own article? It doesn't even use the same name. Emperor001 (talk) 03:39, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Windows vista edit

Article says that vista user has to create dedicated server, this is partly mis-leading, because atleast vista user creating normal lan server, XP users can join it just fine —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.195.78.46 (talk) 17:20, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Patch history edit

Which is the latest patch, 1.53 or 1.60? I have OEM CDs with version 1.3 - is this the demo, or retail version? 2fort5r (talk) 01:33, 6 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Citations edit

I tried looking for some references, but they are all from gaming websites, not sure what Wiki protocol is concerning these. There a lot of sources for this game, but I struggle to find any that are completely reliable and independent, if someone knows what sites are normally used for video games that could help DRosin (talk) 12:38, 22 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Rvs 2.0 edit

I edited the new section on Raven Shield 2.0 that somebody added. Mostly just proofreading, such as proper use of capitals and apostrophes. I also clarified exactly what the mod aims to do. 96.52.141.178 (talk) 17:27, 30 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
