Lawsuits

edit

Section titled "Lawsuits" is better described as "In the News." Third paragraph in this section has a citation to a source with a paywall and therefore cannot be fully accessed. Since the Mark Sableman trial is still pending, the "he said, she said" content should not be included on this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MelanieKirkland (talkcontribs) 22:18, 15 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

New Chair in 2020

edit

Roman Wuller became the new Chair of Thompson Coburn in July 2020.[1][2] Could this information be updated, along with an updated revenue figure? Spencecomms (talk) 13:56, 30 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

New office in New York

edit

In July 2021, U.S. law firm Thompson Coburn combined with Hahn & Hessen and opened a new office in New York.[1] In the info box, could the number of offices be changed from "6" to "7"? And can the second sentence be changed to the following to add New York and alphabetize the office locations? "The firm has more than 400 attorneys nationwide and offices in Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, Southern Illinois, St. Louis and Washington, D.C."[2] Spencecomms (talk) 15:45, 30 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

I have made the changes above, on behalf of Spencecomms as I believe the edit to be a non-controversial update of simple facts, and to be sourced; I do not believe it to infringe copyright. Elemimele (talk) 17:27, 30 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi Elemimele. Could you or another editor assist in adding a sentence to the end of the "History" section on the page re: Our New York office? Such as "In July 2021, Thompson Coburn combined with Hahn & Hessen and opened a new office in New York." The same citations would apply to this addition. Many thanks. Removing old information

edit
  • Specific text to be added or removed: Remove the "Notable Cases" and "Recognitions" sections.
  • Reason for the change: These sections contain outdated information that is no longer correct.

Spencecomms (talk) 20:59, 2 March 2022 (UTC) The "Notable Cases" and "Recognitions" sections of the page contain outdated information. Could they possibly be removed? Spencecomms (talk) 23:10, 25 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi Spencecomms. I don't see a problem with making this change, apart from the removal of the Hosanna-Tabor case. That one still appears to be notable. Would removing the "Recognitions" section, and trimming the "Notable Cases" to just Hosanna-Tabor satisfy you request? LCU ActivelyDisinterested transmission °co-ords° 21:42, 3 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi ActivelyDisinterested. Yes, that would be great, thank you. Spencecomms (talk) 22:05, 3 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Brief updates

edit

The info box at the top of this page contains outdated information. Could the Chief Operating Officer be changed to Allen Capdeboscq, Jr. and the revenue figure be updated to a 2021 figure of $234 million? Spencecomms (talk) 21:44, 23 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Done In future if you mark your request with the template {{edit request}}, it will be put on a list and is more likely to get noticed. See WP:Edit request for more details. Theroadislong (talk) 22:04, 23 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Remove "Notable cases" section, which contains incorrect info

edit

Greetings, could an editor remove the "Notable Cases" section? For the only case listed, Thompson Coburn was not a named law firm before the U.S. Supreme Court[1], so the information is not correct. Thank you in advance for the assistance. Spencecomms (talk) 19:59, 28 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

  Done. Theroadislong (talk) 15:14, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Spencecomms: For future reference, the New York Times source said Douglas Laycock, a law professor at the University of Virginia who argued the case without mentioning Thompson Coburn and the The Reporter said Sherri Strand of Thompson Coburn LLP, St. Louis, who served as co-counsel for Hosanna-Tabor along with Professor Douglas Laycock. Was The Reporter mistaken? Rjjiii (talk) 15:22, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Rjjiii: It’s a question of semantics, I think. A Thompson Coburn partner represented Hosanna-Tabor in the underlying litigation, but it was Laycock who represented the client in all SCOTUS filings and proceedings. Spencecomms (talk) 16:15, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the context and transparency, Rjjiii (talk) 16:26, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
