Comment edit

I find no evidence of an "Earl of Cardonald", let alone one with this name, and the statement was added by an anonymous editor who has edited nothing except this article.--T. Anthony (talk) 10:17, 20 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

I decided to just remove it. It lasted seventeen days, which is a dubious "success" as vandalism as this is an article concerning a signatory of the United States Constitution.--T. Anthony (talk) 10:23, 20 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

United Kingdom's Irish colony edit

The previous statement that Fitzsimons was born in "the United Kingdom's Irish colony in October, 1741" was incorrect on two grounds. Firstly, the United Kingdom was not formed for sixty years after the date of his birth. Secondly, before 1801 Ireland was a dependent kingdom of the British crown, not a colony.

I have edited it to read "Ireland".

Real spelling edit

His last name is FitzSimons because it means "son of Simon". I know this because I'm related to him. So please call him FitzSimons.

Please provide WP:Reliable sources that prove that is true, Sadads (talk) 14:06, 24 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Date & Place of Birth edit

I have removed place & date of birth i.e. Tubber & 4 Nov. There is no evidence for these claims. Most sources give 'exact date & place unknown'. I believe it is vandalism. PeterClarke 09:09, 3 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
