Merging Soup Nazi into article edit

Am I the only one this makes sense to? It seems silly to have this article as a rather pathetic stub yet have a much more substantial article written about a character from the article... it should surely be a subsection within this article? If no one shows any objection I will combine and redirect Soup Nazi to here - Glen 06:48, 11 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Okay, two weeks later and "consensus" seems to be to merge ;) Just completed - if anyone strongly objects then, lucky this is a wiki :) - Glen 00:25, 27 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Soup Nazi edit

Wasn't this character based on a real person? -- Ansible

yes, the soup nazi is based on a real person.

The soup is really good, he won't let you pick the soup(you get what you get), he hates Seinfeld (he says his business was fine before Seinfeld), and my friend that ordered there was told not to come back for a year, because he took the soup nazi's picture. The preceding unsigned comment was added by NosferatuMan (talk • contribs) .

I agree with that the soup is really good. But he does let you choose the soup, and - while strict - was in no way rude when I was there. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 217.255.104.197 (talk • contribs) .

The soup NAZI had a STALIN-esque mustache...? Philwelch 16:39, 16 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Well, it's not really Hitler-esque, the little black square one that everone recognizes. His goes to the corners of his mouth. --SheeEttin 21:31, 4 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

I saw him on CNN being totally rude and refusing to talk to the anchor because they made the reference of the Soup Nazi character. His agent had to do most of the talking for him because he refused to look into the camera. --BlueGlowGuardian 02:35, 18 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

Rude of him, yes, but I'm sure he's quite tired of people coming up to him for a nearly a decade with cries of "No soup for you!" ~~ShiriTalk~~ 23:16, Jun 18, 2005 (UTC)

he was in vancouver raising money for katrina The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.64.223.203 (talk • contribs) .

I can confirm it. The line was huge!--Planetary 04:47, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

"The Original Soup Man" is indeed open. It's in Manhattan. -Raijinili 18:10, 10 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Street ruffians edit

Wasn't it "street toughs"?

The street toughs were gay? edit

What's the source of that? It looks like vandalism, but it's been in this article since it was created... --Matt Nordhoff (talk) 09:59, 19 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • It's in many references in Google, including ones that are not mirrors of this site. If all else fails, watch the episode. Wahkeenah 14:44, 19 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • The article states "Though their homosexuality is merely implied in the series, it is explicitly stated in the supplemental materials of the 7th season DVD set." That citation is good enough for me...though I have qualms about the next sentence "It was decided that only gay men would want to steal an armoire.", but I don't know if that came from the supplemental material or was interjected as someone's own person opinion (in which case should be deleted). Tendancer 20:19, 19 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
    • That would be the core point. If any fact is either stated in the episode or is extremely obvious in the episode and/or is stated in the official supplemental materials, that certainly qualifies. That comment sounds like something that was lifted from the supplemental materials, not likely to have been stated in the show itself. If neither, it's just someone's opinion. Phone Calls? edit

On the bottom of the menu, it says "No Substitutions or Phone Orders" but the man behind Yev is obviously taking phone calls. --70.140.22.6 17:07, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • Silly point. How do you know he's taking phone orders? He could be placing a supply order, another employee could be calling sick, he could be talking to his wife telling her he's working late tonight. I.E. it's a PHONE. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.247.163.176 (talk) 21:07, 19 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fictional Nazis edit

I removed this category as the character is obviously not a fictional Nazi. Viriditas (talk) 09:01, 4 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Critical response? edit

This sections does not seem to be about critical response, but about academic analysis? 190.103.70.147 (talk) 00:31, 24 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

I agree. It doesn't seem appropriate to be classified as a "critical response". Not only that, but I am confused as to how what Professor Ghent stated was erroneous?Nickeldorf (talk) 06:21, 1 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
