Release Date edit

The release date on the page can't be correct. I'm listening to the song as I type this on Yahoo's Launchcast music service. [1] Acarvin 17:13, 5 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Focus edit

Doesn't it seem weird that this article focuses more on the U2/Green Day Cover other than the original? I would think, that the artcle should focus on the original a lot more and then either as a sidenote or maybe in it's own article should the cover version be discussed. --Worthlessboy1420 14:12, 27 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • That's my fault. When I moved this out of The Skids, I was working off a memory of having heard the original maybe three times 25 years ago. If we find a reliable source of info on the original, we should put some more material in here about it.--Mike Selinker 21:57, 27 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
  • I think I'm going to swith the album covers around, so the skid's version will be on top. I makes more sence that way. --Worthlessboy1420 21:36, 31 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Yes, it would make more sense, but now that the infobox has the info for the 2006 version with the original cover art, it just looks confusing. I'm going to switch them back for now, until we have info on the original release (I tried to find something on the web, but wasn't very successful). --Kristbg 22:20, 31 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

numerous errors?? edit

The B2's aren't ever depicted dropping troops in the video; only supplies.--137.186.148.131 0:34, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

  • as per above The b2's are dropping supplies not troops, hence that reported error is false.
  • secondly it states that there are only 21 B2's operating in the United States Air Force, though if you count them in the video there are never more then 21, so thats wrong as-well.
Therefore i am removing the errors from the article.--Fabio 16:52, 14 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

ERROR? edit

I believe Jacknife Lee didn't help on the U2/Green Day version of The Saints Are Coming. Due to I believe that, it can be possible I missed something. Whoever put that on here, tell me where you saw this. I haven't and it needs edited. CRBR 21:00, 16 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

A question edit

From what I have heard, I can assume that the studio version (U2+ GD) is also a medley of lyrics. But I would liek to have that confirmed.

Separate edit

I really think the single by U2 and green day should be separated from the skids. Green Day can be in the disambiguation.--71.183.217.40 (talk) 16:52, 8 March 2008 (UTC)greenday21Reply

Why? It's the same song. MelicansMatkin (talk) 16:24, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I agree, it should be separated. different artists, therefore different sound.--Greenday21 (talk) 02:47, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Greenday21Reply

Same song - there's scant precedent for doing so, and advantages are dubious. It's a more complete article like this. Walls and roof are different materials, shapes and purpose, but they are still the one house. --Merbabu (talk) 03:21, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Best name edit

Isn't calling the article as "Wide Open (EP)" better?Francodamned (talk) 03:26, 28 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Point of interest edit

Can anyone tell me, which version is used to introduce Southampton FC? 2006 or Skids original? Evlekis (Евлекис) 17:57, 21 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

British date format? edit

Why is the date in infobox on the U2/Green Day version in the British format? just curious. --Chickenguy13 (talk) 05:56, 12 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

The U2 articles use British English, and as they were the ones who did the principal amount of work on that section they used the same date format for consistency across all their articles. Per WP:ENGVAR this should not be altered. Melicans (talk, contributions) 13:28, 12 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
