alternative rock

look, RJA is not alternative rock. That means "instead of rock 'n roll" and is slower and quieter music, and RJA usually does flatout, upbeat tempo songs" —Preceding unsigned comment added by Matt 14 (talkcontribs) 16:19, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Guys, they are an alternative rock band, and they say so in their website www.redjumpsuitapparatus.com --::semper fidelis:: 14:21, 19 May 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fleurbutterfly (talkcontribs)

Pop punk

RJA is a pop punk band, so you should let me put that in the first line, I think people should say what they think, and i'll see who agrees with me. I think so because they label themselves as that and their upbeat tempo songs with reasonable, though not really emotional content. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Matt 14 (talkcontribs) 16:55, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

I disagree. There's no need to put a genre in the first line to immediately identify the band as being in a single musical style. Furthermore, the article has become a battleground for genre wars, and so I've tried to keep all the genres in the infobox, where they are cited to the teeth. You're welcome to keep "pop punk" in the infobox, that's easily supportable with sources. Chubbles 17:07, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

what?!?! lol RJA aren't pop- punk at all. Awqaw123123 (talk) 08:12, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

New Interview

There's a new interview here http://benkharakh.com/rja where they say they're working on their new album and that they're "Indier than Indie". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.68.97.33 (talk) 18:07, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Christian

The article states that the bassists girlfriend gave birth in august 2007. This means they had sex before marriage, since they are not married, yet they have a child together. In the christian religion there is not sex before marriage. This would outrule the idea of them all been christian as some people in the old archive discussions have suggested they are.

Not all christians believe this, and honestly few practice it. Shapeshift1 (talk) 23:35, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Don't feed the trolls. This is User:Matt 14 (which, I'm pretty sure, is his name and his age) when he's not logged in. Chubbles (talk) 00:29, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

um, you can be a Christian, and still have the "above scenario (i don't want to type it)." It's a sin to have a kid before marriage, but it can still happen, and you can still be a Christian.--Darth 'ric (Feb. 24) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.97.127.16 (talk) 03:11, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

i disagree with you beause u can have a child without being married and yes it is a sin and i will say that but god know what is going on and everything happens for a reason and that so happen to be why she had a baby and everyone messes up everyday and people always will and that is life that is why god died on the cross for our sins so we wont have to go to hell for what we did wrong he took all that from us and so now if we repent and ask for forgiveness then we are good and god will forgive and he is always with us and he know what is going to happen to us one sec. to the next he knew us befor we were ever born so yes it might be a sin but god made that hapen for a reason and you dont know that reason...

I really wish that this band werent so confusing. one song is actually titled ASS SHAKER. like I thought in fates hands was about his salvation. no. its about a girl dancing. but in face down, he is talking badly about a guy treating a girl badly. thats VERY hypocritical. also I am so tired of people saying things like this band did one thing wrong. thus they arent christian. shut up. quit trying to justify your reasons for liking them. its not like if they are christian they are automatically not good. but in like everysong except in fates hands and waiting(waiting could be, could not be interpreted thus) on the released lp, are very christian. but in another song they are talking and cussing in another. I hate that. if the band isnt gonna be upfront about their faith, then they are in it for the money. like Underoath. everyone knows they are christians. but bands like creed. deff. in it for the money. but they used the christian industry to the advantage. so. yeah. i dunno. I just rambled. I dont know if this band is in it for the money. cause they are clearly strong believers in the ablum as a whole, but in 2 or three

songs, they are using bad language and such. but whoever thinks a christian CANT cuss, is very wrong. but a Christian shouldnt cuss. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.251.121.223 (talk) 07:50, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
I think the only one confused is you. In Fate's Hands about salvation? Ass Shaker about A GIRL dancing? How about re-reading it and pretend he's excited about his band coming together and is singing to his fans out in the crowd. Sounds like a fun concert to me! Where did you get GIRL from?74.235.166.115 (talk) 22:32, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Ok Well lets look at it this way The Lead singer Is very open about his belifs in God, and also says he is a christian. Now can i speck for the other members of the band i dont know. Their not much information about the other band members. Also look at it this way. The Classic Crime a band that RJA is good friends with is the same way. They are on a some what christian label Tooth and Nail recoreds. TCC has said that they are in no way a christian band, and that two of their band members aren't even christian. Also another example so of you may have heard of the Christian punk band Hawk Nelson. Most Of thier songs is about girls and relationships. Do you think thier song Bring em out had anything to do with God. NO. i mean in a movie they were playing at a party where kids haad brought alchool and stuff. To me that doesn't send a good message to the christian commnity. So Thing of it this way No band is perfect, But just becuase band has a song called ass shaker, and someone in the band had child before they where married doesn't mean their not christian.Rockismorethanmusic (talk) 23:50, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

OK...so what joey and laura had a baby with out being married at least he didn't do what some a$$ holes do and LEAVE HER...Maybe he isn't a practicing christian. and many christians don't listen to that whole thing of no sex until marriage only the extremely religious ones. In my opinion marriage doesn't matter as long as you are in love and they are...I'm 100% sure they don't view there daughter as a sin...all you people who are saying negative shit about it need to get off your high horse...seriously...the most important thing is that they love eachother, and that they love their daughter and raise her in a happy, loving, safe environment...which is what they're doing. When they are ready for marriage they'll get married i'm sure, but they're both still pretty young so let them live their lives and don't talk shit when you don't know anything about the situation

Anyone actually have a SOURCE to prove this? Makes much more sense then trying to figure out whether they are christian by their actions.--SilverOrion (talk) 07:52, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

I know it's already been stated, but I'm supporting the side that says the whole "sex-before-marriage" doesn't necessairly mean anything about their being christian or not. Being a teen I know a lot of of Christian kids that have long since departed with their virginity. Whether or not that's a good thing, I'm not going there, I just know the times are changing... Newbliss (talk) 16:16, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Why is it so important that they're christian or not? Whatever their religious sect be, the important thing is they make good music. And why in bloody hell are you discussing about the bassist having a baby outside wedlock? It's their business. Chill! --::semper fidelis:: 14:27, 19 May 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fleurbutterfly (talkcontribs) Also, Ronnie has said that while yes he does have his beliefs he doesn't believe in shoving them down peoples throats. —Preceding unsigned comment added by YourGuardianAngel2 (talkcontribs) 07:27, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Alternative Rock again

Seriously, is this genre really needed on the page. Alternative rock is an overbaring category that covers everything from pop rock to hard rock. All of the other genre's listed fall under alternative rock, therefore it has been narrowed down further, erasing the need for the category. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.219.144.63 (talk) 05:55, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

well what do u people call alternative rock? the alternative to mainstream music? an alternative to rock or to mainstream rock?

NOT EMO

I am so sick of people labeling any band that dresses "emo" or uses screaming vocals emo. The lyrical content does not make a band emo. The band's attire does not make them emo. Screaming vocals do not make a band emo. Stupid fucking mainstream ignorance.

then what makes it emo if ur so smart?--Iandrummer204 (talk) 23:22, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Actually, lyrical content DOES make a band emo, though you are right, screaming vocals do not make a band emo, that is ignorance of the genre. Is Underoath Emo? Is The Devil Wears Prada Emo? No, they contain screaming vocals, but I'd hardly identify it as such. IronCrow (talk) 17:18, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
Genres aren't based around lyrical content.Inhumer (talk) 08:29, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

you idiot, RJA is emo. While the lyrics don't necessarily make it emo (misery business by paramore has dark style lyrics), if that and the stomach-churning screaming are in the song, it's pretty much emo. Listen to "IN FATE'S HANDS" and "GRIM GOODBYE", and tell me RJA isn't emo. They're more emo than Jimmy eat world and boys like girls (seriously, how is Boys like girls emo? the music is like plain white t's).--Darth 'ric (Feb. 24) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.97.127.16 (talk) 03:16, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

If what you're saying is true about RJA being emo, then please provide some backup in your talk. Some references maybe, because your statement is purely based on you OWN opinion, which is not accepted by Wikipedia as proof. husdaman13 (talk) 13:37, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

swearing

is it just me or does love seat say "my fucking armchair" the lyrics always read different wherever I go, but I cant help but to thing that ronnie swears on love seat, it just sounds so much like it.

Excuse me? My love's like an armchair74.235.166.115 (talk) 22:25, 30 March 2008 (UTC)Someone with ears

ok guess thats correct but isnt "ass shaker" or "damn regrets" counted as swearing? they arent words that christians would use the way they have used them, so why would anyone say the members were christian if they say words like that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thrice34 (talkcontribs) 14:16, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Well alot of people think Damn Regret as Damnnation from the bible. "Ass Shaker" on the other hand i'm not so sure, but the song nevers says ass shaker. but hey look at Underoath thier a Metalcore band with christian members in the band, and in some interviews they cures.Rockismorethanmusic (talk) 23:37, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

WHAT THW FUCK!?RJA ISN'T EMO.FUCK!

  • this whole catagory has no use...honestly...a lot of christians curse, you people really are rediculous with this shit...and ass shaker is of their demo cd, they renamed the song...and i'm pretty sure it was a joke when they named it that...Just go away and read your bibles or something...

I agree with the person above, despite their spelling... Christians curse, even the old uber devout ones like my grandmother. She doesn't consider a few of them bad words and uses them in casual speech. I don't fully understand if that was what we are debating, but yeah... Most Christians grasp they're just words, unless you use them with an intent to hurt... Newbliss (talk) 16:25, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

there's nothing new about christians swearing. they do since the beginning of time. --::semper fidelis:: 13:34, 20 May 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fleurbutterfly (talkcontribs)

ronnie being married

well it's a relief to know that he's married, rumors have been circulating in the internet that he's gay and gerard way of MCR is his lover. anyone knows if he has any kids yet? --::semper fidelis:: 14:47, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Ronnie and Staci are happily married and have been for almost 2yrs now...(it'll be 2yrs in August i believe. they got married in 2006, when the band was in Vegas for warped tour). She sells merch for the band, and they do not have any children yet...other than their dogs...(redjumpsuitalliance.ning.com) —Preceding unsigned comment added by YourGuardianAngel2 (talkcontribs) 06:57, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
