Is this a remake?

The plot of The Lie sounds the same as the recent German film We Monsters. Compare the official programme notes from TIFF:

Year's release

Though this film was initially released at a film festival, its wide-release will be on Amazon Prime Video in 2020. Shouldn't it therefore be moved/renamed to The Lie (2020 film)? Thoughts would be welcome.--DisneyMetalhead (talk) 17:16, 27 September 2020 (UTC)

Seeing as there has been no further discussion here, I will be pinging users who have contributed to this page within 2021. Shouldn't the wide-release date be listed in the specifying title as I proposed before? Film pages are almost always listed with their first release. For example, A Quiet Place Part II is listed as a 2020 film only because of its world premiere in March 2020. The film did not have a wide release until May 2021. So, I would insist on keeping The Lie as a 2018 film, as it did have a world premiere that year, rather than its later wide release in 2020. Its the norm for film pages to be listed with their first release date, for instance when they premiere. Cardei012597 (talk) 02:07, 18 August 2021 (UTC)
