Buck's "Find the Money" Trick...

I don't know if this is worthy of mention in the article or not, but there's a simple solution to how Buck Howard performed his "Money Finding" act. Since it's such a point of interest in the story, to the point that characters try to deduce how he did it, I thought it was worth mentioning here. Buck Howard 'reads' people, knows how folks' minds work, etc. If you watch the film, you'll noticed that each person who has his money is featured in the foreground at some point... looking forward, toward the stage... not at Buck Howard. Thusly, he chooses someone who's trying not to look at him, someone who's trying TOO hard to be casual. When he plays Vegas, the reason he cannot perform the "Money Finding" act is because the entire audience is sitting at round tables. Thusly, he realizes that he cannot possibly deduce which person is looking away, looking forward, etc. He has essentially gone from a predictable setting with rows of forward-facing audience members... to the chaos of circular seating and audience members facing in random directions. This makes his trick impossible to perform correctly. Just thought it was worth noting that Buck Howard is probably intended to be a bit Obsessive-Compulsive (just my opinion) and this is the culmination of the character being thrown into unpredictable situations - the random-facing audience being the ultimate destruction of his life's routine. -- 4.153.80.154 (talk) 04:25, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
