Sariel's power edit

KirtZJ reverted my correction of the description of Sariel's power. I was given as "He draws his magic from the Moon, with his power increasing in proportion to his distance from it.". This is not an issue of style. It is simply WRONG. "In proportion to his distance from it" would imply that if he was twice as far away from the Moon, then his power would be twice as great. In other words, if the Moon appeared to have about half the diameter (be one quarter the apparent size), then he would be twice as strong. That is the diametrical opposite of what happened in the show. Olba made the Moon appear much larger (not smaller) to enhance Sariel's power.

If you do not like my wording, then fiddle with it, but do not reverse its meaning as you did by reverting my correction. Thus I will revert. JRSpriggs (talk) 02:28, 23 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

If you merely say "proportional", that means "directly proportional". "Inversely proportional" would be more appropriate in this case, but I did not use that because the source material does not support such a precise relationship. JRSpriggs (talk) 02:55, 23 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
In episode 12, Sariel himself says "My power increases the closer I get to the Moon.". JRSpriggs (talk) 08:41, 23 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

KirtZJ, the term "proportional" is almost exclusively used to mean "directly proportional", even though the article deals with both direct and inverse proportionality. Saying just "proportionally" is misleading. ー HigherFive | 〉 11:23, 24 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

JRSpriggs already fixed that. I was going for something that could explain his ability (in this rare instance) in a real-world context rather than simply "in-universe" WP:FANCRUFT which JRSpriggs seems to basing the edit on; echoing the previous discussion that was blanked on this page and the one on the Talk:List of The Devil Is a Part-Timer! episodes page as well. Hence this should no longer be an issue, and should not have exploded into this since it is undeniably minute after all. Anyway. I think we all agree on "Inverse Proportionality". <KirtZJ>Talk

Satoshi Wagahara edit

I think this is the author's ja wiki page: ja:和ヶ原聡司. Can someone translate it? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 07:32, 15 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • I can use Google Translate, but the big issue is that all he's done is this series. He's won a pretty major award in the manga industry for this series, but that could be argued that since all of his notability stems from the manga, that the article should just redirect here. • As Tokyogirl mentioned, the Japanese article says this is the only work he's written, so this is the only work he's notable for. The author would have to satisfy WP:BIO to get an article, and the Japanese article does not contain evidence of "significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject".-- 09:51, 15 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
