Photos

edit

The photos are now in chronological order, but perhaps the photo of the more famous line-up should be on the top of the page, with the earlier photo in the section on Lew Irwin and The Credibility Gap. But that would be better if someone could find and post a photo of all 4 in the more famous line-up (i.e. including Richard Beebe). DougHill (talk) 19:04, 30 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

The second photo (LA Times) possibly shows Michael McKean on the left as the "Unidentified Person". See: https://variety.com/2020/tv/news/harry-shearer-remembers-david-lander-1234847187/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.67.178.131 (talk) 17:53, 14 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Cliff Vaughs

edit

@Vintagent: I can't read much from the source you cited. Neither Clifford Vaughs nor his obituary nor any of the other sources cited on the page mentions an association between Vaughs and the Gap. The only reliable source I could find was Lew Irwin on Richard Beebe which mentions Irwin's owning a company with Vaughs but not his being in the Gap. So for now I've requested better sourcing, but the claim should come off the page if we cannot find it. DougHill (talk) 00:08, 3 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

@DougHill: The Archives link is indeed useless, I didn't realize it would not show the full article if you were not a subscriber, only Vaughs' name. Charles Fleming, who wrote the LA Times obit, did not know Cliff's contribution to TCB, but Cliff mentioned it himself several times. It took some digging to find that LA Times reference. I have now modified the citation without a link to the Archives. Is it necessary to post the clipping from the LA Times? Here is a link to the clipping in my GDrive: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1saKa6NvCWmMOYJSKA-LFQm0r-Qw3gTIi?usp=sharing Vintagent (talk) 10:30, 3 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

I believe that we should link it. (You have archived the original page, so I'll link it as an archive.) But the article doesn't support the claim of Vaughs as a Gap member; nor do these liner notes nor other sources on the page. So I'll edit it to say what these sources do support. I'll try putting this info (these sources and what they support) on the Cliff Vaughs page also. Perhaps some of the editors there can clarify what happened, and can add some sources we can use here. DougHill (talk) 01:37, 8 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

The Pitchel Players

edit

Michael McKean says that only Michael McKean and David Lander played with the Pitchel Players, but not as The Credibility Gap
