Identification of persons in painting

The main subject, the man wearing the strange hat appears to be a member of the clergy (?). Can anyone verify this, and exactly what his garments signify? Mar2194 (talk) 01:47, 20 September 2011 (UTC)

Summary of reasons why the content was reverted

Reverted changes include:

• "estimated 1475 -1505", back to: "c. 1502." It's better to be more specific, rather than less specific.
• "Musée Municipal in St.-Germain-en-Laye", back to "Musée Municipal, St.-Germain-en-Laye". It's not necessary to say Musée Municipal in St.-Germain-en-Laye. Although, of course "in" is another option.
• "The Conjurer is a Hieronymus Bosch painting from the 16th century." - back to "The Conjurer is by Flemish painter Hieronymus Bosch and/or his workshop"<ref name = "Varallo"/>, executed around 1502<ref>Dating based on [[dendochronology|dendochronologic analysis]]. See {{cite book|first=Franca|last=Varallo|title=Bosch|publisher=Skira|location=Milan|year=2004}}</ref>. Cited content should not be replaced by uncited content. I can find the guideline if needed

• returned "(1793-1872) who was a" - since there's not a link to an article about him
• returned " little owl" back to "owl" - I don't understand this edit, the source does not say "little owl"
