Who is depicted in the shadows on the right hand side of the painting? Grandma Roses (talk) 15:14, 13 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Two of John's followers, I'd imagine, peering in through a barred window. Johnbod (talk) 17:04, 13 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

This painting ought to be seen and described for what it is and not entered into a subjective rating system in the very first paragraph. It encourages the idea that works of art are in competition with each other, a projection surely, one generated by art critics and supported by the public. Giving us the opinions of two critics, neither of whom is actually telling us anything important ('the best', 'important' etc)seems like a missed opportunity; immodest and so the very opposite of what the artist would have wanted for his labour. Please consider a different approach. Thank you. M.H. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 37.127.10.100 (talk) 08:19, 25 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
