TalkSwitch Page Status

edit

I sincerely appreciate your comments and recommendation for deletion, DragonHawk. That said, it was (and is) my intent to inform and educate and not to promote, and also to have our partners and customers edit this page to make it more similar to entries such as Cisco, Mitel, Nortel, and Aastra. Other than edits by a broader number of people, I don't believe the pages are dissimilar, and in fact were the basis of my decision to post the article in the first place. I can see where the historical corporate information present on these other pages needs to be added to this article as well; the company has existed since 1990 so I am asking others to help fill in those historical datapoints. I believe an 18-year old firm such as this one easily meets notability requirements.

I have communicated, and will continue to communicate, with the customers and resellers of the company and ask them to further expand, delete, and edit the page so that we achieve a more encyclopedic entry. I am communicating with magazine editors and two authors to provide the required reliable sources, a requirement easily met. I believe the External Links section of the page does fill in some detail, from 3rd-party sources. Is this not the case?

In addition the firm has commercialized two US patents, which adds to notability and need to be listed on the page as well.

Since this last note, the company has not further edited this entry. In addition, the company has been purchased by Fortinet who no longer wish this page to be displayed on Wikidedia. Therefore I have started the AfD process. Tim Welch (talk) 02:34, 4 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

I think you rather misunderstand some important points about Wikipedia. We don't actually want a company editing an article about itself. See WP:COI. Additionally, unless there is a privacy concern we generally don't consider whether or not the subject of an article wants the article to exist or not. I'm sure there are many criminals and corrupt politicians who would rather their WP articles did not exist, but if the content is properly verified that does not matter. Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on TalkSwitch. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.
