Naming
editWhy is Switch Island called Switch Island ?—Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.9.102.170 (talk • contribs)
- not sure any additional citations are actually required for an article of this size. perhaps a request for expansion may be more appropiate? then again, you are limited in what you can say about a motorway junction. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.241.89.68 (talk) 01:43, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
- further info could be:
- why named switch island, amount of cars using it, future plans, why layout was changed, major accidents, the area around switch island, i.e. the retail complex there. The number of rail projects being undertaken to reduce traffic here, Olive Mount chord. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.241.89.68 (talk) 01:48, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
- I can remeber before the arival of the M57 and M58 there was just a round about called Switch Island, it looked very similar to Robins Island further down the A59.--Kitchen Knife (talk) 15:18, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
Major overhaul/update
editWhilst contributing to the A5758 road article, I noticed this article was severely under-developed. I have redrawn road maps to show its progression over the years and wrote what I have picked up on from these maps on how the island has evolved. I can't find much in the way of written history/news articles from the periods in question, with much of the contemporary news related to how dangerous it is, so this is an area for further development. - I have also just changed the class to "C" from "Start" given the amount of content that has been added and amended. Bungle (talk • contribs) 21:00, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
