Request for article correction – Ian Paterson
editI have a connection with Spire Healthcare, so in the spirit of transparency I would like to ask if someone in the community would please make a correction to a factual error in this article.
I propose removing the following statement which is incorrect and is not anyway directly supported by the referenced citation: "According to Thompsons Solicitors Spire let him operate well after he was suspended by the General Medical Council in 2012.[9]"
As stated in the Verita Report (an independent investigative company), Spire Healthcare suspended Mr Paterson’s practising privileges a full 14 months before his GMC registration was suspended (it remains suspended to this day). He also did not carry out any further breast surgery after 31.05.11, which was before restrictions were placed on his practice by the GMC.
I would also like to point out that Rob Roger is no longer CEO of the company, as shown in the fact box at the top of the article.
