Sepahbod and Sepahsalar are the correct phonetic transcription for the Persian words! In Iran you will hear a distinct "e" , pronounced as in the English word "error"! Turkish native speakers may be inclined to pronounce the words typically: "Sipehbod" and "Sipehseler", in adherence to Turkish pronunciation. To Iranians of pre-revolutionary generations, SEPAHBOD is often affiliated with Sepahbod Zahedi (General Fazlollah Zahedi), after whom numerous streets had been named, in commemoration of his coup against Mossadeq's government in 1953. Sepahbod implies "Major General" in modern Persian language usage! One must note in general that a Persian speaker will not pronounce two consonants following each other, in the Arabic script applied, without an applicable vowel in between.
