Talk:Sovereign and Popular Italy

Ideology edit

Similarly to what I argued in Talk:Italexit (political party), I affirm also here that "populism" is an appropriate umbrella-ideology for this coalition. "Euroscepticism" is a policy more than an ideology, while "sovereigntism" is a very obscure characterisation that can be considered a variety either of nationalism or Euroscepticism or, again, populism. ISP is indeed a full-fledged populist coalition, whose platform features multiple issues, from Eurosceptiscim to vaccine hesitancy, from economic populism to anti-lockdown stances. As of late, its member parties are known more for their opposition to Covid-19 regulations than Euroscepticism and from that issue comes the coalition's unity. "Populism" should be mentioned as the coalition's main ideology, while poorly-sourced "sovereigntism" should be removed. I am sure that we will find more and more sources on "populism" moving forward. --Checco (talk) 06:31, 7 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
