Comment removed regarding demographics of Greater Golden Hill Planning Group that was neither true or provable. Ms. Forman holds a minority opinion that should be balanced with other opinions. Factually, South Park has been so named since the 19th century, even before the North Park name. Republicanism is not a common controlling factor in South Park. South Park/Golden Hill

Apparently there are people out there who don't believe that the neighborhood of South Park is a separate neighborhood from Golden Hill (the neighborhood it originally grew out of), but is it worth a whole paragraph? I don't know anyone who can't distinguish between the two and it is universally treated as a distinct location in the local media.

Even the quote from the owner of the Big Kitchen who is apparently some sort of South Park denier is from a story in The Reader about the communities of North Park and SOUTH PARK. The cover of the magazine even refers to the feature as "North Park vs. South Park"

I think that part of the confusion stems from the city's use of the term "Greater Golden Hill" area in regards to city services and planning, as seen in the following map which was once part of the article: http://www.sandiego.gov/planning/community/profiles/maps/mapgoldenhill.jpg, but this has nothing to do with the city's neighborhood designations as the same map lumps the Gaslamp, Cortez Hill, and East Village neighborhoods under the listing of "centre" and the neighborhoods of Sherman Heights, Grant Hill, and Stockton under the label "Southeastern San Diego."

I have edited the article to distinguish the differences between South Park, and Golden Hill/Greater Golden Hill. Hopefully this makes the article more readable. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shoeless Ho (talk • contribs) 03:21, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

Judy Section Separated

I moved the paragraph about the naming "controversy" from the top of the page to its own section. There is no controversy now, as far as the city is concerned: South Park is a designated neighborhood and appears on their maps. It's still part of the Golden Hill Planning Community and Judy (and some other old-timers) still insist it's part of Golden Hill, but everyone has an opinion. Orayzio (talk) 17:24, 28 May 2014 (UTC)

Brooklyn Heights

I removed the awkwardly worded sentence about the Brooklyn Heights historic neighborhood and the Presbyterian Church because I couldn't find any references to support this.
