I'd still vote for the full name.
One of the nice things is that you can use {{DEFAULTSORT}} to avoid problems of how he is listed or searchable. Note Julius Cheeks. Joe407 (talk) 09:53, 6 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Greetings Joe407. Thanks for feedback. Unfortunately {{DEFAULTSORT}} doesn't help people find the article under the guy's real name, as is apparent in the case of the Sonny Rollins example I gave on your talk page.
The idea is that people coming to an encyclopedia find things as easily as possible. Redirects partly solve the problem but require an almost infinite amount of imagination to cover all eventual variations of a theme, including "common" spelling mistakes, as in Sonny Rollings :) or "Sonny" Rollins...
The bottom line is that MoS is clear on using the name by which a person is best known as - especially necessary in the case of musicians, a breed notoriously prone to using nicknames! Cheers! --Technopat (talk) 10:04, 6 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
I'm with the choice of Sonny Cohn. No one but family members and people who have already read up on will know that his real first name was George. And thanks for undertaking this article!-RLCampbell (talk) 15:27, 7 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
