Sorry you got offended, we get a lot of drive by comments on Wikipedia and frankly you are lucky I bothered to reply at all. I will try to be more tactful in the future. By being pompous I managed to get to the root of the issue: you want a ref for why it took to long. An entirely reasonable suggestion, hopefully someone will see it and expand the article.
