Please do not delete this site as it is a true professional organization of surgeons. The organization is above all non-profit and dedicated to educating surgeons on new technologies. The organization does not promote any one product or technology.

Additionally, I have deleted the "introduction" section which may have been viewed as "promotional". —Preceding unsigned comment added by Axygos (talkcontribs) 14:24, 12 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Does the organization meet our notability guidelines? -- Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 16:57, 12 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
This organization is the largest surgical organization dedicated to laparoscopic/endoscopic surgery in the world. Its members are responsible for bringing minimally invasive techniques for gallbladder removal, hernia repair and colon surgery to most all hospitals and surgeons in North America. As with most medical societies, references to such organizations are few on the Internet. This is largely due to the culture of the medical field which is not generally viewed as "tech savvy." Discoveries, techniques, and research papers which result from such organizations frequently credit the authors and not the society which supports their efforts. It is my intent to create a description of one of these societies on wikipedia so that a younger, more "tech savvy" group of surgeons and patients has a better understanding of the process by which surgical practice / technologies come from. Independent reliable sources must be cited in the article to support that. – Athaenara 20:06, 12 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
