The first section of the article, from "Slab City or The Slabs (located at 33°15′32″N 115°27′59″W) is a camp in the Colorado Desert in southeastern California, used by recreational vehicle owners and squatters from across North America." through "most campers use generators or solar panels to generate electricity" is almost verbatim identical to The Salton Sea: Pictures And Scenes Of Slab City in a blog entitled "The Velvet Rocket." The statement written " "most campers use generators or solar panels to generate electricity" 
is a common expression when describing this place where I live.  I do not know if the author
of the article started this Wiki entry after he wrote said article or after, but the fact remains 

that most people DO use solar panels and also generators as it is an Off Grid community and there is NO electricity nor other services. So I don't know how else he could have worded it.Hope that helps.[[User:robihutton}}

History section

I think there needs to be some idea of time frame at the beginning of the history section. "There was need for a new training facility for field and anti-aircraft artillery units" reads like a continuation of a previous statement. @Cynthia Nocton:, I found some sources saying the Slab City was bought by a developer in 1993, but more recent sources says it is owned by the state. Do you have any sources that shows what happened during those times? Graywalls (talk) 01:19, 16 October 2020 (UTC)

Grand Theft Auto V

The video game Grand Theft Auto V has a major area based upon Slab City called Stab City, and it and several other locations on the game map are patterned after the settlement ("Stab" City even has a performance stage). Maybe. If it passes MOS:POPCULT by being prose, being discussed in depth in reliable sources, etc. Over time I think Wikipedia has been getting stricter about popular culture sections in order to discourage a bunch of bullet points of trivia. –Novem Linguae (talk) 22:02, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
