  • Support - The smaller page was created due to a bad link, which indicated that the larger page did not exist, when it in fact did. The two pages, referring to the same battle, should be merged into a single page. I would prefer Siege of Amida for the new page's title, since the battle seems to classify as such. Have to echo the above. Ammianus says 30,000 Persians killed (19.9.9). Also, the whole city was certainly not massacred. Ammianus again says that "[Sapor] had often suffered sad losses, and had sacrificed far more men himself than he had taken alive of ours..." (19.9.9), implying that people were taken alive, presumably to be shipped off in slavery to the Persian Empire.Hannibalianus (talk) 18:22, 16 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
