Fair use rationale for Image:Shudehighschool.jpg

edit

Image:Shudehighschool.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Sourcing issues

A number of sources make the same reference to a supposed 1944 article in Ta Kung Pao, the archives of which I do not have access to. Apparently a Professor Yang Rengeng of Wuhan University had called Shude one of the best four private high schools in China at the time (“《大公报》发表武汉大学教授杨人梗的文章说:"成都树德中学是四所办得最好的私立中学。" according to the school's website. I removed reference to this line since the source was arguably unverifiable, and because its bearing on the school is dubious.

Another piece of information I removed was that the the school was ranked 36th in 2016 for “total number of graduates admitted into top American universities," per the previous iteration of this article. The original citation was to a People's Daily piece that does not specifically name the school. The report referenced is called 中国大陆出国留学最强中学TOP50榜暨美国大学TOP名校2015年度中国招生报告; I was unable to find information on the original authors/authoring organization, nor its methodology. It does not seemed to have continued for any other years, and for this reason, I opted to omit reference to it altogether. WhinyTheYounger (talk) 02:02, 23 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
