This article needs updating to include the acquisition of Alltel by Verizon Wireless on January 9, 2009.
Scott T. Ford never received an honorary doctorate. In fact, his father, Joe T. Ford, received an honorary Doctor of Laws in May of 2007 as demonstrated in this alumni newsletter, while he was the Chairman of Altell.
