He wasn't loaned out, he was bought. So he should say he was bought by Recreativo and then rebought by Villareal, not loaned. Talking about in the table on the right.

Also, there appear to be some inconsistencies. In the box on the top right of the page it says he has scored 13 times for Spain, then in a box below it gives a year-by-year tally that shows he's scored twice for Spain, then just below that gives a goal-by-goal tally that amounts to 4 goals. Which is correct? 121.72.216.131 (talk) 23:44, 7 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Date of birth

edit

Two dates of birth are listed. One in the opening paragraph, one in the bio box. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.232.26.208 (talk) 12:49, 25 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Will fix that. Cheers. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 12:52, 25 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

That's nice - I've also just posted on my Twitter that I've signed a contract with Arsenal; doesn't make it true. Let's wait until the club officially announce it. GiantSnowman 17:51, 2 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Snowman with you at DM I think Arsenal is well in for the title. Chesney, Sagna, Vermaelan, Laurent, Santos, Snowman, Arteta, Wilshere, Walcott, Gervinho, Podolski. COYG! --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 21:35, 2 August 2012 (UTC).He is yet to be officially revealed by arsenal.Reply

So, he scored 54 goals in one year? Yeah, someone made a mistake. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adnan7631 (talkcontribs) 22:50, 6 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Arsenal

Santi Cazorla has been officially signed to Arsenal for a fee of £16m (source: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/aug/02/arsenal-santi-cazorla-robin-van-persie?newsfeed=true) and will go to Arsenal's preseason training camp in Germany, followed by his debut in the friendly against FC Köln. Perhaps legally completed but not officially as nothing is official until, you guessed it, officially declared so by the officials responsible for officially announcing such. Namely, Arsenal F.C.. (Though I do expect the announcement Monday.) - Slow Graffiti (talk) 01:26, 6 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Assists

edit

Santi currently has 8 league goals and 8 league assists as per the statistics of the official premier league website so I've updated these as per what the official league site states. The official site of the league obviously has more credence than sites like soccerbase, Here is a link to Santi's official stat page on the league website-http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/players/profile.statistics.html/santi-cazorla — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cesc89 (talkcontribs) 13:01, 26 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Too many information about his last season. I think it's wrong to write about his every goal and match. He ain't star however. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.114.16.91 (talk) 23:55, 25 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

New seasons additions

edit

Shouldn't Cazorla be getting a new addition to his club career section for the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons? I definitely think the page is in sore need of an update there. Also, most of the citations that refer to some of the smaller facts are cited from the Arsenal website (possible conflict) and his player page, which needs to be manually accessed and clicked on numerous times to bring up a specific season to actually bring up the cited phrase (if you can even find it scrolling through all the other facts also on the page). Because of this I feel big chunks of the text cited in his 2012/13 and 2013/14 season descriptions might also need an overhaul.

Villareal "signing"

edit

Despite various media reports, it doesn't look like Cazorla has actually signed a contract with Villareal yet. Although Villareal made a big thing of him joining, most of the coverage at the time stated that Cazorla would be training with the club during pre-season and could be offered a contract if he came through it OK.[1][2][3] The Marca write-up after the game the other day contains the following line:

Coach Javi Calleja expressed his happiness at the prospect of signing the 33-year-old if all goes well in the coming weeks and such a moment would mark a happy ending to a 636-day nightmare for all involved.

The current Daily Mail source needs to be replaced anyway. Any objections to me making the above clear (and removing the current club)? I thought it better to pre-empt any issues with a bold edit by discussing here first. Nzd (talk) 21:56, 19 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Officially signing with Villareal

edit

On the 5th of July, Cazorla officially signed with Villareal for pre-season.

HiZo123 (talk) 19:29, 25 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

@HiZo123: Per above, there is no contract as yet. Cazorla has joined Villareal for pre-season with a view to proving his fitness. Hopefully he will be able to do that and will end up signing a contract with Villareal. Nzd (talk) 19:37, 25 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

2012-2014

edit

Over half the article is a detailed, almost month-by-month breakdown of 2 of his seasons at Arsenal. For example, his 4 seasons at Villarreal merit a mere 4 paragraphs, while just his first season at Arsenal gets 8 bulky paragraphs, including post-match quotes. While this is sourced, it seems like excessive detail. Anyone have any objection if I start trimming it down? Valenciano (talk) 06:52, 4 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
