About the description "Cell of Horror" edit

There was an edit war in the past few days about removing the description "Cell of Horror" for the article. In one of the latest removal, the editor mentioned that the description does not appear in the English sources. To avoid edit war, I would like to have a discussion here. In Chinese media, "Cell of Horror"[1][2][3] (恐怖囚室) is a very common description for San Uk Ling, no matter from credible media/press or social media. I don't think it can be removed with the reason "sources only written in Chinese", especially when "cell of horror" is just the direct translation of "恐怖囚室". If we can only keep contents with English references, there will be a bunch of contents to be deleted in the English Wikipedia. In fact, the cell of horror is already a very mild description of San Uk Ling. If people can be beaten up off the teeth inside the building and nobody can be sent to the hospital (and even have accuses of gang rape[4] by police inside the building!), many people would even call it the "cell of torture". --Flag4567 (talk) 20:23, 22 September 2019 (UTC) Flag4567 (talkcontribs) is a confirmed sock puppet of Angelalive (talkcontribs). I think you still haven’t understood the reason. The issue was that “cell of horror” was in quotation marks. Quotation marks mean a direct quote. It’s not a direct quote. Feel free to add it in a way that does not imply that it is a direct quote, such as something like it has been called a “恐怖囚室“ (cell of horror).
The above is also assuming that the sources are reliable and the translation is accurate in this particular case. “Terror cell” is honestly probably a better translation. — MarkH21 (talk) 20:35, 22 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. I edited in the way that you suggested.--Flag4567 (talk) 20:57, 22 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

About the Gang Rape committed by Hong Kong Police inside the San Uk Ling edit

This discussion is another attempt to avoid edit war, since a section about the public's accuses toward gang rape by police[5][6][7] was entirely removed. In fact, I want to point out that those contents are not saying "gang rape by police" really happened. In contrast, those contents are saying there are "accuses towards gang rape by police". We are looking at the social impact of "gang rape accuses", not looking at the "gang rape" per se. It is worth to be recorded in Wikipedia. Loch Ness Monster has an article in Wikipedia no matter it really exists, right? We are looking at the social impact! Even the police force themselves, need to explain the gang rape accuses in their press conference[8]. There's no way for us to keep a blind eye on those social impact. If there's no objection, I will add those contents back next week. Thank you.--Flag4567 (talk) 20:49, 22 September 2019 (UTC) Flag4567 (talkcontribs) is a confirmed sock puppet of Angelalive (talkcontribs). Reply

Pinging MarioGom since that was the user alluded to. I think that if they're just vague accusations that aren't verified or widely covered in mainstream media, then it should not be mentioned. Otherwise, it may be WP:LIBEL or not WP:NPOV at the very least. If there's serious coverage from mainstream media, then accusations should certainly be included. — MarkH21 (talk) 22:10, 22 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

A participant named Ho said that it is shameful and unacceptable for the Hong Kong police, who proclaim themselves to be “the best in Asia,” to resort to such “low-class” methods. He added that rumors went as far as claiming the police are gang-raping arrested protesters in San Uk Ling Holding Centre, showing how far the police force's public image has fallen.

I would summarize it as According to Taiwan News a protester claimed there were rumors about police gang-raping arrested protesters. Is that really due? A rumor claimed by one protester, which is unverified and not cross-checked with further testimonies? Wikipedia is not a place to spread gossip. --MarioGom (talk) 22:20, 22 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
