editI left the following feedback for the creator/future reviewers while reviewing this article: Very nice job on the article.
Removal of cited content
editI have removed the following content: "His voice gave him a start in radio, but by his mid-twenties he had a deep-lined countenance and was balding, limiting his stage and screen roles to character parts -- Buffington often played character roles that were twenty to thirty years older than his actual age." It was cited to this newspaper article, but I found only a passing mention of Buffington, when the article compares another actor to him. Eddie Blick (talk) 23:21, 7 July 2023 (UTC)
- The cite states that the actor compared to Buffington could handle a wider range of roles due to his physique, voice, and appearance. In other words, Buffington's physical appearance limited the parts he could play. The portion " -- Buffington often played character roles that were twenty to thirty years older than his actual age" was recently added by another editor, and of course is correct, but not part of the original cite. I do not challenge its removal, but would ask you reconsider the first part of that sentence.--Saratoga Sam (talk) 03:44, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Saratoga Sam, Thanks for that feedback. After looking at the cited article again, I have added a sentence about his roles being limited (cited to the Altoona Tribune article). I still don't see support for radio, countenance, and balding in that article, though. Maybe someone else can find what I can't. Eddie Blick (talk) 00:08, 9 July 2023 (UTC)
