Righteous Among the Nations

edit

The claim that she was declared Righteous Among the Nations by Yad Vashem likely resulted from a mis-translation, originating with a newspaper headline stating that she was a righteous person in Crimea (easy to see how it ended up becoming misunderstoof). The fact that she saved Jewish children during the war is not heavily disputed, but the confusion about the title led to the whole story briefly being considered false, but the account of her actions is not generally considered so. The Ukrainian government partially sponsored the film about her and there have been other documented cases of Crimean Tatars actively resisting the Nazis, like Alime Abdenanova and Amet-khan Sultan--PlanespotterA320 (talk) 00:03, 20 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
