Quotes
editRexxS I removed the sources and added CN as the quotes were sourced to his own bio but were from other people praising him. If they are legitimate, you should be able to source them without linking us to his bio that doesn't source it. It would be like me creating an article and linking to my own webpage saying "Chrissymad was called brilliantly witty by award winner Jesus H. Christ." It's like linking to an amazon review, c'mon now. CHRISSYMAD ❯❯❯¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 18:43, 16 May 2018 (UTC)
- It may be his biography, but I don't think it's his autobiography. In other words, I assume that it was written by a member of Association of Literary Scholars, Critics, and Writers. The publication is notable and has a reasonable pedigree. I can't see any reason to doubt its bona fides, nor to suggest that the quotes it reported were inaccurate. Your analogy breaks down because your own webpage doesn't have its content overseen by a notable publisher. Does that make more sense? --RexxS (talk) 18:56, 16 May 2018 (UTC)
More sources
editOttava has sent us some more sources about Wilson:
- http://www.versedaily.org/2017/aboutryanwilson.shtml – the same quotes from Pinsky and Jarman, along with a quote from Rosanna Warren and some biographic details
- http://poems.com/feature.php?date=17412 – Poetry Daily (a very popular poetry site) has the same quotes
Although it's possible, even likely, that the above sources are indebted to one another, the fact that the quotes are to be found at other sites independent of ALSCW tends to lend more weight to their accuracy.
- http://english.cua.edu/faculty/profiles/wilson.cfm – Wilson's profile page at Catholic University of America his current book project about Robert Penn Warren’s poetry ans Wilson's teaching, specifically American Modernism might be worth a mention in the article.
- https://dappledthings.org/12431/sneaking-into-the-kings-forest-at-dark-a-conversation-with-ryan-wilson/ – a more recent interview with Wilson
- https://archive.org/details/ApostropheCast1.6-PoetRyanWilson – Wilson reading eight poems. Sadly, it's under a NC licence, but it might be worth noting as an external link
- http://thereviewreview.net/reviews/hybrid-humor-highs-and-lows-poetry-journal – Wilson gets several paragraphs in this review of Birmingham Poetry Review's Spring 2018 edition.
- https://yalereview.yale.edu/dog – One of Wilson's poems published in Yale Review
If anybody thinks that there's more content to add to the article from these sources, please do so. If nobody objects to these sources in the next few days, I'll have a go at using them. --RexxS (talk) 21:47, 17 May 2018 (UTC)
