Hospital for Sale edit

The present Sick Kids hospital site is going up for sale before Christmas 2016, and plans are to vacate it in 2018 and move to the new building at the Royal Infirmary. This article is pretty scanty at the moment and the Sick Kids has been a really important part of many families lives in SE Scotland. Since the hospital is going to see a lot of changes over the next few years, I think it would be great to have a better source of information available on it's history. I've made a few small edits and I'll be seeking out more information to augment the pages with. Anyone else who'd like to help - please do! I should also declare that I'm particularly interested in the site because of the Phoebe Anna Traquair murals there. I do volunteer work for a charity that owns another set of her murals, so I know a fair bit and can hopefully share that. I don't think it's a conflict of interest as I've no personal gain in here - I just like her work! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ammienoot (talkcontribs) 09:54, 14 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Age Limit? edit

I don't have a refrence but when it comes to certain operations, such as cancer and reconstuctive surgery (these are two examples I know personally), the age limit for the Sick Kids can go up to 16 or even higher on occasion. DSQ (talk) 16:26, 20 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Closure followed by opening of new hospital edit

I have reverted an edit by Melrose1980 which stated that the hospital moved to Little France in March 2021. Previously, the article said that the hospital closed on that date, which I think is more correct. The article is about the building in Sciennes, which did indeed close in 2021. The building in Little France is a new hospital with a different name, albeit one which took over the facilities of the Sciennes hospital. At least, that's how it looks to me. If anyone feels strongly that I am wrong, feel free to revert my reversion. Mike Marchmont (talk) 07:49, 27 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

And on a side note: I just noticed that in my edit summary for the above reversion, I referred to the new hospital as being in Petty France, not Little France. My mistake. Petty France, of course, is in London. Mike Marchmont (talk) 07:49, 27 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
