I'm going to remove that POV trash (Americans, especially, it would seem). Just noting the change. -Ben

Wilderness and the American Mind is written like someone's essay. Urgent changes are needed.

WatAM is a book. I have read and used the 2nd and 3rd editions. The Section generally describes what the book is about. Note: I was a student in 2 of Rod's classes having him as the prof for one. I have personally lived some of the history in the last chapters of the book. While I don't fully agree with Rod's humanistic and literary slant (e.g., he likes Aldo Leopold while I think Rachel Carson is more important), Rod generally gets the ideas right. If anything the section doesn't summarize enough. Criticism from the political right (conservatives) should be watched. The page as a whole is lacking because Rod has accomplished a lot more than WatAM. 143.232.210.38 (talk) 23:36, 11 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

This is a valuable entry for Wikipedia, thank you for starting this item. The original was hagiographic and still needs some slight adjustments and footnotes/citations to meet Wikipedia standards. comment added by Tintle (talkcontribs)
