End Credits
If you watch the end credits right after they say "Oh...duh," there is always something funny mentioned about Mila Kunis and Sara G. They usually say something nice about the two and make fun of the guy right below. Every ep I watched on Season 3 had it. One example, one of the end credits called one of the girls a feline, the other one a kitten and name the other guy "a synonym for the above." I thought this would be a good "Hidden Egg" piece. Typical Frankenstein Fashion
"The show's theme song was composed and performed by Les Claypool of Primus, and he sings the song's only lyrics, "It's alive!", in typical Frankenstein fashion. " Note that in the book "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley, the line "It's alive!" is never used and is not in any way part of the book. So why it says "in typical Frankenstein fashion" although the line is never used in or referenced to in the book is beyond me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.168.143.178 (talk) 04:00, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
- I presume that this refers to the 1931 film (which does include the line), not the novel. -TDK (talk) 11:27, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Kristin Chenowith
In the recent credits it says her name is "Kristien Chenowith" and not "Kristin Chenoweth." Any idea on the correct spelling and who she actually is? 71.225.125.176 02:51, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Hi there, the correct spelling is Kristin Chenoweth and she's an actress largely known for her musical theatre work (especially Wicked (musical)). HTH! Docta247 07:53, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Update! You raise an excellent point. In last night's ep she was credited Kristin Chenowith. Wonder what's up with that. Docta247 10:18, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Name origin
A recent bump on Cartoon Network claims that the name is from a Chinese menu sent in by a viewer named Alethea. They also claim they're going to start a new show named Seafood Commissioner based on another item from the same menu. But this seems to contradict what's in the article now. Which is right? Deco 01:38, 23 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Many of those bumps are intended to be humorous. The derivation in the article came straight from Seth Green's mouth. Who are you going to trust more: a couple of wiseguys or just one wiseguy?
- I don't know. :-) It may very well be a joke, but I suppose we don't have enough info to know either way right now. Deco 05:55, 23 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- I think the creators of the show got the name from the menu, and a viewer subsequently mailed in a copy of the same menu. Kufat 6 July 2005 15:02 (UTC)
Seafood Commissioner is a gag. They didn't mean anything serious by it. The fact that the tagline is something like, "He's Fighting For Freshness!" should have tipped you off. XP Kakashi-sensei 18:34, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Just to clarify, as the bumps are included on the DVD's: what is meant is that a viewer named Altehea went to the same Chinese restaurant (Kung Pao Bistro) that Green and Senriech got the name from and took a picture of the menu showing that yes, indeed, they actually do have a dish called "Robot Chicken." Also, on the same menu, was the dish called "Seafood Commissioner" which they jokenly said sounded like another good name for a show. But it was obviously a joke. RoyBatty42 17:21, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- I heard from an animator I know that knows them (animator I mean Production Coordinator--everyone in animation in LA knows each other or knows someone who does--the crew sizes are small.) who knows they got it from the restaurant first-hand. He also likes going there and going out with the other animators from the WB studio there (It's nearby the main WB studio currently. CN people and WB people often mix since they are from the same company. And also because animators often jump company to company because of the type of job schedule they have this means they pretty much have heard or met someone in the industry. This means rumors spread fast...). Anyway he heard it from them (or someone who knows them, I'm not too clear on that). ^_^ They really love that Chinese restaurant. Personally, I don't think Robot Chicken is the best ever though. (The food) Other food is good. --Hitsuji Kinno 13:58, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- In Episode 9 of the Transformers (I was JUST watching it), Ironhide says, "This is what separates the Autobots from the robot chickens!" Considering that the show has constant mentions of Transformers and 80s in general, do you think this morbid line might be another source of the name in some way? --MrDopple 20:53, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, no beans. I asked and the creators were not aware of this involuntary name check. -TDK 14:29, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Clean up
Hello everyone :-) Taking a quick glance at this article, it seems like it could use a little bit of cleanup. The lead section is way too long for the article. It should be 2-3 paragraph, and it's goal should be to establish context and provide an overview. I think it goes way too in depth to the shows guest stars, and the history of the show. Both of which could go into a different subheading, rather than the lead. For the list of guest stars, does it really need to be the whole list? And if it does, I'm sure it can be organized better, than just one massive list. Also, the external link to the t-shirt shop, I don't see how this is a relavent external link for the article, seems to me like it's just an advertisment.
Just some suggestions :-) Cheers! --lightdarkness (talk) 14:44, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
Since the show is getting longer, the episode guide should probably be moved to its own page, and the guest stars list could go with it, or if someone wants to take the time, each star could be listed in the episode he/she appears in.
I'll make the move, if nobodoy else has any objections. Tobias087 06:37, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
Robot Chicken Webistes & Fansites
I have a Robot Chicken fansite called Robot Chicken Fanbase and people keep on deleting the link when I put it in external links. I spend a lot of time on the site and I have made contact with Matthew Senreich and Seth Green and they like the idea of the site. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 139.168.236.138 (talk)

Copyright
No one has filed copyright infringement towards this show? It's a parody, but they still use copyrighted character names.
- You can't copyright a name, only trademark it. And because it's a parody, they are allowed to use those trademarked names and character liknesses. However, if the trademark holder decides to sue, the people making the parody will usually back down. Case in point; Fensler Films and their G.I. Joe parodies. CardinalFangZERO 01:03, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
- There's also a disclaimer at the beginning of the show. --CCFreak2K 04:26, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
Actually there was a very interesting article about this very issue in one of the mens magazine. The creator of the show refuses to do any random plot. Aparently, every single skit is designed with the very issue of meeting the paradoy requirements of using tradmarked names. It was a very interesting article.Adam Y 04:46, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
AFAIK you can skip copyright law when you create a tribute or/and a parody but, at least in some countries this rule can be blend in a more "suitable way" (in this case they can say that robot chicken is not a parody). So create any parodies is the same to walking on thin ice. Luckily (for this serie) you can find SONY behind it (or more specifically sony's lawyers). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.246.161.232 (talk • contribs)

- Most Obviously, the ones aired on the FOX Network XP

Trey Anastasio a guest star?
I watched every episode and scoured the IMDB entry for Robot Chicken and haven't found where Trey is credited as being a guest star... Could someone give the episode? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 192.216.27.32 (talk) 21:28, 7 March 2007 (UTC).

Origins
While it might have been inspired by Twisted Mego Theatre, from the commentary it becomes clear that the show's origins are directly tied to the Sony ScreenBlast website as they keep bringing it up repeatedly. So perhaps the "Key Elements" should be changed to "Origins and Key Elements" or perhaps seperated altogether. RoyBatty42 18:54, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
Adult Swim UK
That notice about DRM being used to block content outside the UK seems unnecessary. I think it should be changed to just 'Content cannot be viewed outside the UK'. CarrerCrytharis 08:42, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
Locations, Parodies, and Cameos.
Every episode has some kind of all of these, it's a parody show. I say we remove these sections as uncompletable and just mention the fact that it's a parody-heavy show and refer people to the Robot Chicken wiki (or maybe the episode lists) if they want a complete list.--Viridistalk|contributions 08:00, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
criticism
this article needs a criticism section.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 168.103.83.102 (talk • contribs) 28 July 2007.

- Unless there is anything especially notable or cite-able or there is a cause for controversy I say it can be done without.--Viridistalk|contributions 11:00, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed. Criticism sections have a habit of turning into a space for people to moan in an unverifiable fashion about shows they don't like. Unless there is a specific and widespread criticism, a section is not required for RC. Docta247 11:28, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- If it's not in printed press or aired on news, then it's not a criticism. If it's just people on a forum bitching about a sketch, it doesn't count.

Seth Green
Green has been added to various shows in the "Guest stars" section. Can he be a creator, writer and also a guest? Docta247 19:44, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Well, some people might think that those body parts are uncensored, that's why I mentioned that it is in fact censored on the DVD set. 82.148.70.2 12:00, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
- I reverted that edit. I saw your point, but my reasoning was that you labelled those body parts as "unsuitable", which didn't really make sense (to me) without a context. Unsuitable for who? Children? I'd imagine RC has some kind of no-children rating in the US? Sorry if I'm not making sense! :-) Docta247 12:13, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
- I mean it's inappropiate because those things are related to pornography, and no not only inappropiate for kids, a lot of adults that I know find it very VERY inappropiate, including me. If my edit was too trivial, I apologize. 82.148.70.2 10:59, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
- Anatomy is in no way related to pornography! The HBO series Rome had a fair amount of nudity and in no way was it pornographic. I imagine it had some kind of rating labelling it not suitable for young viewers, but I equally imagine so does Robot Chicken. Not a US resident so I can't comment on specifics I'm afraid! Docta247 11:04, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

- Ah, well here in the US nudity automatically equals pornography. Thanks, repressive puritan ancestors!
- Not to be argumentative, but that is not true. In the 1973 Supreme Court case Miller v. California, the court said that for material to be classified pornographic, it must pass the narrowly defined "Miller test". This is why people do not get arrested for buying, selling or producing pornography. Long live free speech!
template
Should we add the Robot Chicken episode template? I think we should, but i wanted another opinion.1 wit da force 17:05, 29 September 2007 (UTC)1 wit da force
Wha?
From the Season 1 DVD section:
At a performance of Family Guy Live in Chicago, during the Q&A session that ends each performance. Seth Green was asked how they came up with the name Robot Chicken. He explained that the title of each episode, was a name Adult Swim rejected for the name of the show.|-
Outside of horrific grammar, what does this even mean? Soonercary 05:40, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
- It means that the title of each episode is a rejected potential title for the series itself. That's pretty clear, despite the grammar issues at play in that sentence.
References outside the show
Should this section even be here? It seems completely pointless to me, pointing out a single Family Guy reference to RC. Docta247 06:37, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

List Cleanup / Transfer
I'm considering making a new page called "List of Robot Chicken Actors" or something similar and pointing the (rather large, in my opinion) list of people over to there. Before I start any kind of edit war, I put together a very basic (and in desperate need of formatting, etc.) example page over here. Does anybody else think this would be useful and/or encyclopedic? Deafgeek (talk) 20:15, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
- I'm fairly new to editing here, but why does the list have to be one column in your new section?
- I think the base article should have the guest list in 6 columns instead of 3, since I feel a decrease the vertical space may make an article look better. The main article on Jan2009 has 2 paragraphs then a ton of lists then a DVD paragraph, and looks a bit amateurish. MJ56003 (talk) 18:22, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
- Poor coding on my part is the reason why it was in one column. I'll be fixing that later tonight or tomorrow. I'll see how things look with 6 columns. That way we can get an idea of how much space each name actually takes. Deafgeek (talk) 20:04, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
Terminator?
In the "Opening" section, it says that the appearance of the robot chicken is "possibly as an allusion to Terminator". To me, this seems like a bit of stretch, and it doesn't cite a quotable source. Anyone mind if I remove it? Cliche Screenname 22:43, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Unfortunately there has recently been incidents in which two IP address users are reverting valid edits and not leaving a valid reason for the reverts in the edit summary. I have posted messages on each of the IP address users talk page explaining the situation and hopefully in the future they won't make changes without adding a edit summary but for now to prevent any unwanted edit wars can there be just for now a temporary block on IP address edits and only allow registered users to make changes to this article? Still think Season 7 is coming?
Sure, that NTSF Christmas special is real, but I looked through the Adult Swim schedule on December 15, 2013 and there's no Robot Chicken Christmas special!? I have started to believe that these Season 7 rumors are just a bunch of scams and lies, and I'm really hoping that's not the case. We have not had any new episodes since freakin' January 6, when Inmortal premiered.
It's the first day of December, and STILL no new RC.
I now officialy believe the show has been permanently cancelled and there will be no more episodes. I just wish I could believe that Season 7 is coming soon. But it's not. It's not coming at all. It's beem cancelled. No season 7, no Christmas special, no DC special, no nothing. Just fanmade hoaxes. If we really were getting a Season 7, would have started months ago. Cast section
The cast list is an unsourced mess that seems to list it an arbitrary manner. According to IMDb, many of the actors listed under "main cast" have appeared in less than 10 episodes, some as little as 7 episodes, while some of the "Celebrity guest stars" have been in as up to 8 episodes and some people listed in "Other voice actors" have appeared in as many 14 episodes. There is no clear guideline to what is considered to be main, and the difference between being "celebrity" and "other voice actor" is pretty arbitrary. The guest list is also so long that it's really hard to navigate for useful information. Seth Green is the only voice actor to appear in every episode and only two others (Matthew Senreich and Breckin Meyer) have appeared in more than half the episodes. I'm going to be bold and remove it. If anybody disagrees with this, feel free to undo my edit, and I will start an RFC to decide what to do. JDDJS (talk) 01:54, 23 September 2017 (UTC)

Is there a reason why the Interantional section is made of bullet points and not in paragraph format? it looks a bit off seeing that the rest of the article is explained in a different structure. Almmapp (talk) 01:13, 18 November 2019 (UTC)Almmapp
Character section
There should be a section for original Robot Chicken characters on this page. --24.188.22.145 (talk) 23:54, 17 March 2020 (UTC)

Who edits the episode guide so that it has info 2 weeks in advanced?

Cancelled?
The article states that the show ran "2005 – April 11, 2022". What is the source of this information? Gideonkage5407 Gideon5407 (talk) 02:51, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
- It hasn’t been cancelled, nor has it been renewed. Wikipedia has a rule saying that if a show hasn’t been officially cancelled yet hasn’t aired a new episode in over a year, they add the show’s last aired date anyway, although it can change if new episodes are announced. Just recently someone else edited the page to mention that the show released a commercial collab with Pop-Tarts just this year (2023) (as well as other commercial collabs in the past). I can’t decide whether or not it counts so I’m personally gonna leave that up to the powers that be. Crummymummy (talk) 20:46, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
