Millbank Prison
editAccording to Wikipedia Millbank Prison was designed by William Williams in 1812 in accordance with the utilitarian principles laid down by Jeremy Bentham. The Williams design was subsequently adapted by Thomas Hardwick who began the construction in the same year. Hardwick resigned soon after and John Harvey took up the role. He was dismissed in 1815 and Robert Smirke took over and completed the project in 1821, at a cost of ₤500,000.
So Robert only managed the completion of the project and did not design it surely? BeckenhamBear (talk) 09:03, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
"In Popular Culture" section
editWould it be worth placing information about the use of his likeness and theories of architecture in The Magnus Archives? It is a way in which many searching his name might be expecting to see him understood. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.119.55.96 (talk) 12:08, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
