I laughed out loud when reading, "Robert Waite was committed to objective history. To be objective for him meant that the historian must avoid distorting the evidence to fit a subjective interpretation."

Waite's book, "The Psychopathic God: Adolf Hitler" is well-recognized as the penultimate biased take on the Nazi leader. I still remember one review said it should have been named "Smears, Innuendo, and Outright Lies."

Freudian theory had already largely been discredited by the time Waite wrote "The Psychopathic God" and it was beyond ludicrous for Waite to apply psychoanalysis on someone he absolutely hated and had been dead for decades.

I am deleting "his modesty kept him from approaching the publisher himself regarding a republication of his Hitler book when it went out of print, until he finally accepted the requests of colleagues who needed it to be available for their students as an assigned reading" because it has no source. It sounds like something from the back of the second printing's book cover.--TL36 (talk) 02:15, 11 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
