editRe: the claim that his standup tour inspired the scene in "Spaced"- this sort of thing has been done in comedy for decades and I find it highly unlikely that the creators of Spaced would not have ever seen another example of a son fooling his mother about his alternative career. I'll leave it a week then alter that part.
