Talk:Return on Investment

Latest comment: 11 years ago by BD2412 in topic Requested move

This article is intended to be a disambiguation on the Return on Investment (ROI).

ROI was born over a century ago as a financial tool. In the financial area it is commonly referred to as a rate of return - see the main article.

Due to the successful use of the ROI in the financial area, it has been implemented in other areas:

- Social return on investment,

- Public ROI, etc.

This article carries brief explanation of various ROI measures and both internal and external links to more detailed material. A. Bokov (talk) 03:50, 1 March 2012 (UTC)A. BokovReply

Return on InvestmentReturn on investment (disambiguation) – This page should be moved so that the title can be redirected to the lowercase version, Return on investment. First, there is no indication that the capitalization of "investment" provides any new meaning to the term beyond the clear primary topic. Second, most of the terms on the page are partial title matches, and therefore not even ambiguous to the phrase "return on investment". Third, all of the listed concepts appear to be types of return on investment in different settings, making this page WP:DABCONCEPT to return on investment. bd2412 T 00:23, 15 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Support – the current situation is just silly. This fixes it. Dicklyon (talk) 03:12, 15 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose: if the current list is a concept article, "Return on investment (disambiguation)" is a bad name for it. I support moving it to a better name ("List of returns on investment"?) to make room for the retargeting of the base name, but not this move. -- JHunterJ (talk) 11:57, 15 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
