Rearanged ; editing suggestions
editNot sure on the appropriate layout of information in military articles, but I reorganized some of the text in a way that seemed to make sense. On the history, some of the material might be integrated into History of Guinea. At the same time there are gaps - notably concerning events on the border with Liberia - and a need for more info on the 2008 disturbances. The latter are important background to current events in Guinea.--A12n (talk) 23:39, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

Apart from the aircraft invetory, this is taken from the CIA, and is also outdated. Needs an update from CIA, look at the French government resources (go to the French Embassy, in Guinea's site, look for Multi-lateral cooperation, Military). Also (as most of these Military of... articles, it needs some social/historical background. What's the military's role in government? have they taken part in coups? repression? corruption? business? transitions to democracy? What's their relations with foreing powers like? They rejected the French under Toure, which was VERY different from most of their neighbors, whose militaries were staffed with French officers for years after indepence. What part did they play in the cold war? T L Miles (talk) 17:36, 7 March 2008 (UTC) |
