Not News edit

This person is not notable. He told some jokes at a convention and had to get pulled. Wikipedia is not a newspaper or a collection of articles about anyone or anything that has ever appeared in a newspaper. If he is not established aside from this one incident he should not have an article. To quote "Even when an event is notable, individuals involved in it may not be. Unless news coverage of an individual goes beyond the context of a single event, our coverage of that individual should be limited to the article about that event, in proportion to their importance to the overall topic. I'm going to PROD, and when it's rejected I will take it to AFD. Noformation Talk 02:10, 20 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

You know, I get really tired of looking up minor celebrities and people who appear in the news and finding out that someone decided they weren't "notable" enough for me to learn anything about them. Yet I can look up a gazillion pages of nonsense about Pokemon... Disposableman (talk) 06:13, 20 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
I came here just to learn something about him. Is not that a sign that it is notable? --94.230.144.33 (talk) 16:00, 20 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

I completely agree, I think this article should be deleted, his appearance at WWE Capital Punishment was really stupid. This guy is not notable at all 80.229.169.189 (talk) 15:19, 20 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

I am not sure he got pulled out because of racial jokes.--94.230.144.33 (talk) 16:00, 20 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

wow, looks like the notability police are out on the beat — Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.54.138.33 (talk) 20:44, 20 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

For what it's worth, I looked up the Reggie Brown article because I wanted to find out more info about him. I think the article should not be deleted.

By the way, is Brown an African-American? (He said, in a radio interview, that he wears contact lenses to turn his green eyes brown.)

The question is best answered with a picture of him, available here: http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1153994240/nm3667699 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.211.237.145 (talk) 10:43, 22 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Strongly disagree. Like others here, I came here to learn more about him, which definitely fits in with Wikipedia's primary mission. The article will not be deleted.LeyteWolfer (talk) 20:03, 27 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

This article should at least be cleaned up though. It even says "best obama impersonator" 50.35.187.70 (talk) 01:13, 7 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Completed a major overhaul of the page today to make it neutral and encyclopedic, complete with 100% citation. This is my first major edit, and I would appreciate feedback from the community. Edits for Neutrality, Fact Checking (3/20/2014) edit

1) Removed pseudonym. A non-mainstream nickname is not an appropriate item to designate as a pseudonym.

2) Removed website. A booking website is not an appropriate source of official information. Search other entertainers. The websites cited on their pages contain a great deal more official information than presidentialcomedy.com does. As formatted prior to this edit, this Wikipedia page was a giant advertisement. This change will help to remedy that until a more appropriate website can be found to put in the website section. Other users are encouraged to assist in the search for an appropriate website containing official information.

Just want to point out that I decided to leave the booking website link at the bottom of the page, under External Links. It seems the most appropriate place to leave it if anywhere. I just strongly believe it doesn't belong in the main Info Box because it lacks neutral biographical information. Makeitobjective (talk) 06:31, 21 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

3) Replaced genre observational comedy with genre Impersonations. Removed subject Impersonations because it is better categorized as a genre. Observational comedy is an incorrect designation for this person's genre, which is primarily an impersonation, featuring some other mixed comedy forms. He performs only as an impersonator and never as himself from what I've been able to find on his website and on search engines. Observational comedy is a specific genre of stand-up which does not adequately categorize this person's activities.

4) Removed all resume-type information from the summary section, and moved applicable facts to sections below, only where supporting citations were available.

5) Removed unverifiable facts, removed redundant facts and statements, added citations, and tempered promotional text within main body.

6) Midwest Emmy: This page previously read that Reggie Brown was the recipient of a 2008 Midwest Emmy. Neither he, nor his network (WMAQ Chicago, were even nominees that year. Proof from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences: Upper Midwest Chapter. So I don't even know where that came from. Updated: Makeitobjective (talk) 06:36, 21 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
