Talk:Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel (Philadelphia)

Content assessment and perceived conflict of interest

edit

Prior to my numerous edits today, this article was self-assessed as C on Wikipedia's content assessment scale. Regrettably, both prior to and following my extensive edit, it fails on multiple accounts. The article has been reassessed as Start. Tags have been placed on the article for enhanced referencing, replacement of bare URLs, and more concise editing to ensure that the article length is proportionate to its importance. It would appear that editors who may be too close to the subject have made significant contributions to the composition of this article. Indeed UrielAcosta removed blatant self-promotional content with this edit in July 2023. In particular, the edits by Thewizardsgirl, that commenced with her first article in March 2015, being a biography of the current rabbi of the congregation, Lance J. Sussman, and then focusing on establishing and building this article over eleven months, from this edit in May 2015 until this edit in April 2016, also editing content on the congregation's various past rabbis individual articles in the interim. Whilst subject matter specialisation is welcome and encouraged in the Wikipedia community, it could be perceived by some that there may be a conflict of interest with Thewizardsgirl. Should a COI exist, I encourage the editor to disclose any COI so that other editors can assess edits by this editor in that light. As always, my door is open to discuss.
