World War II service edit
Although Montgomery served in the Naval Reserve Merchant Marines during the World War II era, there are no reliable sources found as of yet that state he was in a war zone during the war or had a role in the war. More specifically, the sources do not establish defining role in World War II. Accordingly, "Category:United States Navy personnel of World War II" and "United States Merchant Mariners of World War II" are removed until a defining role is established. Semper Fi! Recommend adding rank, positions held and duty stations if ascertained in reliable sources. Although a source says he was a cadet in the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps while in college, it is unclear if he was commissioned as an officer. Semper Fi!
