This page has no dates like birth date, or dates when Ralph won the awards. Please update the same Wikishagnik (talk) 17:03, 1 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ummmm, those dates were in the original incarnation of the article.---Balloonman Poppa Balloon 02:01, 3 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

No dates edit

This article needs to have all the relevant dates. Wikishagnik (talk) 17:04, 1 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

ALL CAPS edit

Why are the titles of the books, etc. rendered in ALL CAPS? Gerry D (talk) 18:06, 1 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

April Fool's/General Quality edit

Is this article entirely an April Fool's hoax? It smells of such, but otherwise: This article has problems with spelling, capitalization, sentence structure, and context. Many random sentences exist, with no links or intro. I tried to flag it, but can't figure out where to start editing it. The sentences on David Grist and Joey to the World (also spelling?) come out of nowhere and then disappear just as suddenly. The book list is in all CAPS and seems misspelled as well. Needs a serious edit, especially since it was shown on the front page. M.manary (talk) 18:40, 1 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Quick seach on any of those terms will reveal, that no, he is in fact legit... the wording of the Hook of course was April Foolish to get there..---Balloonman Poppa Balloon 19:17, 1 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

This is NOT a hoax, it's a brief history on a very unique man. And btw, "joey" is spelled correctly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.73.74.81 (talk) 19:56, 11 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Book list edit

This book list has some serious issues, it's very long and wikipedia is not a list, it is uncited, and it is poorly formatted in all caps, it doesn't mention the publisher, sales, or importance, so I am moving it here instead of deleting it outright until someone with an interest and knowledge of the subject can intervene.71.142.72.103 (talk) 20:48, 1 April 2012 (UTC) publicationsReply

Notability edit

How is this person notable? If indeed the JTTW which he apparently help organise was attracting tens of thousands of pumped up BJers1 and was somehow globallay or nationally significant I could see the point of this article but it seems to be running out of puff as it only pulls in 250 these days. I mean it's a bit like having an article on some guy because he set up a slot car endurance race in Dublin, Ohio. An event of significance for the participants perhaps but not worthy of an article on the organiser.

I'd say demote a summary of this to the Origins section of the balloon modelling article.
