Some points showing rewrite needed

1) A railgrinder is more likely to be a train, not a single vehicle.

2) "before they need to be replaced" is tautology

3) "Many forms are known" is completely uninformative.

4) A simple angle grinder might be used for a localized touch-up but is unsuitable for reprofiling of continuous length of rail which is what a railgrinder usually does.

5) The "through to" does not get anywhere near US trains with crew quarters.

6) Why "48 or more"? A quick web look found a train with 120 heads.

7) The two companies should not be singled out.

8) Why "The railgrinder is viewed...."? I bet Wikipedia "Hammer" does not say "... as a cost effective means of driving nails".

9) Why pick on Network Rail? In any case is railgrinding strategic or tactical?

10) When and where did railgrinding start? Is it a world wide practice?--SilasW 14:03, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

11) "The company who (sic) makes them, Loram Maintenance of Way,.." reads as though only that company does so. Even if at present only its machines are used in the UK there are other manufacturers.

12) Details of Loram belong on a Loram page or site, not here.

Looks like a case of WP:BOLD in updating this from a stub to a higher quality. I managed to catch a rail grinding train working at Rochelle Railroad Park several years ago. 13) Railgrinding in Great Britain is undertaken by three suppliers on behalf of Network Rail. These are Harsco Track Technologies, Colas and Serco Rail Operations. The machines used are maufactured by Loram Maintenance of Way, Harsco Track Technologies and Speno International.
