Neutrality

edit

The whole article reads like a copy and paste from the band's website. Amaron11 (talk) 15:07, 3 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I agree, but there is definitely a solid foundation of information which, with a little T.L.C., could lead to a fairly good article. I am fairly sure there can be no question of notability -- half of the garbage acts on Wikipedia couldn't hope to become as notable as Ra has been for most of the decade -- and given the number of records the band sold with From One and Duality I think we can probably get a decent number of editors to fix this bad boy up. -- The Dark Ride (talk) 16:10, 15 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

This is without a doubt the worst wikipedia article I've ever read. Wikipedia is not a fansite. It is not a myspace. The whole thing needs to be completely redone so that it follows wikipedias neutrality rules. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.232.45.66 (talk) 06:27, 10 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

The article basically needs a ton of polishing because it definitely has enough info. The albums especially need to be worked on. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Deadlyfries (talkcontribs) 03:44, 10 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Metal

It would be a shame to call this band 'alternative rock', it's way too bad. LinnetKU (talk) 12:06, 10 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

um.... no... It's rock. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.22.205.131 (talk) 02:07, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

I am a first time editor, acting on behalf of Sahaj from Ra and I'm here to be schooled on the ways of the Wiki. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. We were thrilled to see that so much work had been done on the page and also very happy to see that it was largely accurate. Thank you to all of the editors who have worked on developing this page :)! Sahaj did find a few things in need of change. He asked that I correct a few errors, delete a misquote and a shorten a quote. He also wanted new information added regarding the new album and to add the link to their official Facebook page. All of my edits were reverted back to their original state so I'm hoping that in posting here it will help solidify the edits. Sahaj said he can state the facts on www.facebook.com/OfficialRa if the consensus is that it's needed. Here are the edits that he would like. In the first line replace Los Angeles, California with New York, New York, replace the 1990's with 1998. In the box on the right, replace Los Angeles, California with New York, New York. Also in the box on the right change years active from 1996-present to 1998 to present. In the first paragraph, delete "Their music...cathartic." It's a misquote. Ben Carroll said specifically, each time "not" is used it should say "yet". They would like to just have it removed. Ben also noted in the box on the right, Brix Milner was not a band member so his name needs removed. Under Origin of Band Name delete -- melodramatic, and "sort of an odd thing and really unique." there is a problem with the references. Under Discography, Ben said that "One" came out in 2002, not 2000. The Tour Video Link is broken and needs removed. They would like to add www.facebook.com/OfficialRa as their Official Facebook Page. Here's what I wrote up to put after "As of September 17th, 2012, Sahaj Ticotin announced that original drummer Skoota Warner would be tracking drums for the new album. [6]" regarding the new album. "In September 2012, Sajah Ticotin, PJ Farley, and Ben Carroll met up in Los Angeles to start laying down the songs for their new album. The band also reunited with their original drummer, Skoota Warner, while out in L.A. recording. Even though it had been four years since they'd all been assembled in one room together they settled in immediately and everything just flowed.100% fan-funded, this highly anticipated album is said to be their strongest to date and is due out the beginning of 2013."[1] BandITBranding (talk) 20:34, 28 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Cleanup Tag

edit

I added a cleanup tag, primarily because of bad writing style. If I get a chance over the weekend I'll come back and make the changes myself, but it's more than I can do right now. Daedae (talk) 15:35, 25 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

I just did a pass through to make several changes and clean it up some. There are lots of unsourced statements, some of which I removed. It could still use some work, maybe by somebody willing to hunt down more actual information, so I'm leaving the cleanup tag. Daedae (talk) 23:55, 11 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Is this the same "Ra" behind songs like "Lightspark" and "March of the Lunar Priests"? I've been looking for quite a while and haven't found anything. No mentions here about anything of this either. -ThePokegeek5000 (talk) 04:55, 8 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Status-update: no it isn't, found it mentioned at https://www.suntriprecords.com/artist/name/RA/ and Dimension 5 (music group) -ThePokegeek5000 (talk) 05:00, 11 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
