Article title?

edit

Is it the right title? It is rather long, I can't see people typing that all in. Govvy (talk) 08:58, 10 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

It is the official name of the legal case. The common titles Colston 4, Colston Four and Toppling of the statue of Edward Colston all redirect to this article, so there are several options already available for people to use in articles. If you can come up with a better title you could suggest the page be moved. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 10:29, 10 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
I don't really know court case names, or the convention for titling those. As for the redirect you created Toppling of the statue of Edward Colston I feel that would be better served by redirecting too Statue of Edward Colston. Govvy (talk) 14:16, 10 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

I have no problem with there being an article about the court case, which I'm sure (I'm not a lawyer) raised significant legal questions. However, much of this article is not about the court case - it is background, regarding the toppling and reactions to it, which are already fully covered at the article on the Statue of Edward Colston. We do not need two articles covering the events around the toppling. Most of the background material - especially the section headed "Reaction to the toppling" - should be taken out of this article, but remain at the article about the statue. R v Rhian Graham, Milo Ponsford, Jake Skuse and Sage WilloughbyColston Four trial – The present title is a little long, so it might be easier to title the page after the collective name of the defendants Truecrimefan22 (talk) 13:11, 10 September 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. – robertsky (talk) 23:51, 18 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
